Nagothian Vortex

The Nagothian Vortex is a large, orrery-like device that comprises the entirety of a fortress at the heart of Rasten. It was created by Archmagus Rowlen Tellurian as a weapon to bring down the nigh-immortal Pirate Queen Synafae. After her defeat, the threat it posed was enough for the rest of the Order of the Golden Rose to leave the Remnant Isles in Tellurian's hands. It has only ever been employed twice, once to create the Maelstrom and destroy the Pirate Queen and her fleet, and again to give life to the Argos, to suppliment a much-depleated population and help make the Isles a world power.
