Lower Planes

The Lower Planes are a metaphysical extraplanar grouping of all planes dedicated to evil concepts and beings. They are as follows: Acheron, the Nine Hells, Gehenna, Hades, Carceri, The Abyss, and Pandemonium.
Demons and Devils inhabit these planes and wage war on each other within them. Since the Lower Planes are manifestations of pure malice beyond what mortal minds are capable of, the few mortals who can travel to them risk permanent psychic and metaphysical effects. People who have children after traveling through the Lower Planes often give birth to tieflings, regardless of where or when the baby is conceived. Others experience long-term madness, changes in their personality, or even altered magical effects similar to wildmagic. Beings made of good or too much order, such as Celestials or natives of Mechanus, are either rotted to nothing on these planes or forcibly expelled into the Liminal Plane or The Great Beyond.
