Celestial

Celestials are gods, angels, devas, and other magical beings that originate in the Upper Planes. Their bodies are typically incorporeal collections of good-aligned energy, similar to Souls but usually without having initially inhabited a mortal form.
In the Age of Tranquility, Celestials were said to have kept the Material Plane like a garden, individually pruning and developing species from the initial material set down by Fricka and into something more resembling their modern-day forms. When Asmodeus created the Archdevils and began the extraplanar wars that would start the Age of Audacity, the Celestials retreated to the Upper Planes for their own safety.
Today, the only celestials an average mortal might come across are the Unicorn, who protects boundaries between the Feywild and the Upper Planes but is sometimes seen near remote, highly consecrated places on the Material Plane, and the Bankhur, a special type of celestial tasked to protect the Nuél-orokhm in its doglike mortal form. Since the dawn of the Age of Complexity, Aasimar have been born in places and circumstances with particular connection to Celestials or Celestial energy. However, they are fundamentally just as Humanoid in nature as their parents, made of flesh and with the potential to have any alignment.
The Celestial language is still spoken by most Clerics in order to communicate with their gods. It is not the native language of any humanoid cultural group; nonetheless, it is widespread enough to be considered the most ancient language spoken among mortals. Some linguists believe that the Common tongue itself is a direct descendant of Celestial.
