Pandemonium
Pandemonium is the most chaotic of the Lower Planes, nearly on the neutral border of the Liminal Plane where Limbo also resides. It is harsh, forbidding, and built according to no known logic—spires of red rock jut out in impossible directions, mazes of caves twist in on themselves endlessly, and wind roars and howls in every corner of the plane. The skies of Pandemonium are a deep violet-red, populated by creatures that seem to crawl and slither across the air.
The language of the demons that inhabit Pandemonium is nearly incomprehensible to mortals—guttural, wildly oscillating in tone, and with no observable grammatical structure. It bears more resemblence to the Deep Speech of The Great Beyond than to Abyssal or Infernal as they are studied by mortal sages.
One realm of the plane swirls and smolders with an acid-green fire, from which arises the Demon Lord Mechuiti, King of Cannibal Apes. The fire burns atop the head and shoulders of the red-furred giant gorilla, whose brutally powerful arms are tipped with curved claws that dig into his wrists when he walks on his knuckles. Apelike and lizardlike demons, whose skin and scales crawl with abyssal runes, spring from the ground wherever he sheds his blood.
Deep within the red caverns of the land of Pandemonium, Qorgeth the Devourer stalks demons and souls on which to feed. Its writhing maw of worms destroys anything in its path, and it believes that all of existence is food waiting to be consumed. Doomsayers have predicted that Qorgeth will one day destroy the world when the ages of gods are done.
The archdemon Crowley, Bailiff of Entropy, is also among the Demon Lords of Pandemonium. His assistant, the once-mortal Loge Haderaa, also resides here due to the bargain he struck for the destruction of Levistus at the Royal Phoenix Showdown. In accordance with the wandering nature of the Daemon Ascendant, he does not keep a palace or a particular realm. Rather, he travels across the plane in an infernal wheeled machine, black and shiny as obsidian and constantly spewing a toxic smoke. The machine is able to travel between planes at a snap of Crowley's fingers.
