Caisléan Murálainn

The Caisléan Murálainn is the castle at the center of Astrazalin from which Queen Titania, the Archfey Regnant of the Summer Court, rules alongside her consort Oberon.

The castle is built of a gleaming purple stone not seen anywhere else. It has seven spires taller than any on the Material Plane. The three tallest towers lack staircases altogether; the highest chambers can only be reached via flight.

The outer grounds of the Caisléan Murálainn are a massive garden and arboretum that grows an incredible variety of plants, most of which cannot be found on the Material Plane and some of which cannot be found outside the grounds themselves. Many legends and accounts tell of travelers seeking out specific flowers from the garden, either as components for a special spell or potion or on behalf of another Fey in exchange for a gift. These stories often end in tragedy, as anyone caught taking plants from the grounds is often either cursed or killed outright. A bridge over a pond in a secluded glade acts as a rare two-way portal between the Feywild and the Material Plane, connecting to a secret garden courtyard in the Royal Almaviva Palace.

The main hall of the castle is a grand ballroom that always seems to be hosting a royal ball or preparing for one. Mosaics of musicians of all kinds adorn the walls and accompany any music played or sung in the room. Occasionally, Queen Titania will capture a musician she particularly likes and keep them in the mosaic for eternity. Each diamond in the two-hundred-foot-wide chandelier of the ballroom is a perfect replica of a Warlock or Fool of the Fey who has been in the service of the Summer Court. The warlocks or their deceased spirits can be contacted via Speak with Rocks, but the Fools always remain silent.

Beyond the ballroom is a council room where the archfey of the Summer Court meet to discuss political matters. Each chair around the table blooms with particular flowers when occupied, which signify both the moods and personality of those sitting in the chairs. Once per year in the week before Midsummer's Night, the Council of Wargraves of Cantonova is permitted to meet within the council room of the archfey.
