Mendhalia

Perched on the edge of the chasm known as The Rift, Mendhalia is the capital and heart of the Kirinian Empire.
It is home to the Kirinian Emperor and the Temple of Kirin as well as the Kirin University.  Mendhalia is considered the most cosmopolitan city on the continent and is home to people of all races and walks of life.
The northern portions of the city are dominated by the Imperial Compound, Pyramid (formerly known as the Cliff Ward), the Mission Ward and the Burimm Enclave.  Throughout these sections live the wealthy and influential citizens.  Important dignitaries from across Olquen spend much of their year within the embassies of the Mission Ward and the Burimm Enclave is filled with Dwarves representing the business and politics of the Independent Principality of Burimm.

Infrastructure

Along the southern wall of the city runs the Chasm River.  The Chasm Dam perches on the edge of The Rift, creating a large lake out of the river before it plunges over the edge.  The dam is by far the most impressive piece of public works in the capital.
