Silken Satchel

The Silken Satchel is the most prominent merchants guild in Ankaluun and even has representation in other settlements across Olquen.  It was founded Mendhalia by a group of merchants seeking to band together to fight the influence of the organized-crime shakedown behaviors of The Muddled Brand.
The Silks, as they are sometimes known, quickly became a rather formidable group and spread across the continent.  Though merchants are always looking for a way to gain an advantage over others selling their same goods and services, they found that by working together they could protect themselves from the interference of outside sources and make certain that prices never rose to high or fell too low.  The merchants are also far more interested in making money than the petty political squabbles of the empires, so they are more often than not willing to trade with those who culturally would be consider adversaries.
Almost every village, town, and city has at least one vendor who is a Silk and merchants outside the guild can occasionally be jealous.
