Early Childhood
Gareth was born in karhil, as the eldest son of Areyus and Vestia Verhill. He was the heir to the Duchy of Karhaven and House Verhill. Gareth grew up around horses and showed remarkable riding skill even in young age. He was tutored in Vermere but spent most of his summers at his family mansion in Karhil.Serving in the Royal Army
When he turned 16 he joined the Aderian Royal Army and was quickly designated to become an officer. He finished his training with excellent scores and received the rank of lieutenant in 1193. He continued to show remarkable skill throughout his service until receiving the rank of captain and command over the 5th Cavalry Company in 1202.Assasination
Despite being stationed in Osternfel and uninvolved in his family's conflict with Kairoz the Andorian at the time, Gareth was assassinated on the 24th of Last Judgment 1205 prior to the eradication of the rest House Verhill that followed the Battle of Navara. The task was carried out by former members of the Justiciar Order working with Veronica Dislerf and inspired the later utilization of The Inequitars.Legacy
Gareth was considered a fair and honest man and was well loved by the people of the Golden Hills. His death, at first ruled as an attack by the Hegemony of Xesian was mourned by nearly the entire province. 2 Taldirian soldiers claimed to be survivors of the same attack, and that the attackers were not hobgoblins, but Aderian humans. This claim was dissmissed as propoganda, in attempt to further tarnish the Emperor of Ader. 10 years after his death, a former Justiciar confessed to a Priest of Rhaan and a few locals in Vermere over a bottle of wine about his role in the assasination. The justiciar was stoned by locals and his testimony created tentions in the area, especially between the local population and known former-justiciars who settled in the area. Riots broke out in the entire Golden Hills and Aderian soldiers were harrased on the roads. If not for the recent Battle of Ammand and crystalization of Kairoz the Andorian, it is very likely that war would have broke out between the kingdoms of Ader and NavaraRelationships
