Mellisa Vartel was the oldest daughter Artius Vartel and wife of Gareth Verhill. She died in Goldclaw Castle during the War of the Cleric, where she fell from a balcony. The circumstances of her death are unclear, though most historians agree that she committed suicide before Light's Hand breached the castle's gates, though another prevalent speculation is that she was pushed by an unknown assailant.
