Vermere

Vermere, also known as the City of Jewelers, has a long an bloody history.
The City started as an Aderian Royal Army stronghold meant to secure the only bridge crossing the Roxmore into the Vintian Imperium. This, with the addition of a major source of gold in the hills made the city a during the crusades of the Wizards Trail and The Days of Reckoning.
After the Vintian Wall was erected military activity and the trade around it started to slow and the City of Crusades has declined into obscurity. Nowadays, following the rise of House Verhill, the city is home to many jewelers who enjoy the proximity to the gold mines. Vermere was conquered by the Duke of Karhaven when the former refused to pay his debts, inspiring the ballad The Lord of Castamere.
