Cyberaudio

Cyberaudio systems patch into the auditory nerves and speech centers of the brain. This enhancement affects both ears, and also includes a subvocalizing mike on the mastoid bone. There is no visible change to the outer ear, although some cyberpunks replace the outer ear with a set of mechanical speaker pickups for max effect. While the cyberaudio suite can function independently, many users like to link it to other cyberware such as a cybereye, or vidscreens to allow for varied output.

Invisibly installed into the inner skull by patching into the auditory nerves and speech centers in the brain, a Cyberaudio Suite allows for the installation of additional cyberaudio technologies.

Foundational Cyberaudio Suite A standard Cyberaudio Suite has 3 Option Slots for Cyberaudio Options. User can only have one Cyberaudio Suite installed
   

Discount Cyberaudio Suite:

You know how it is. You just want to tune up your ears a little but your Fixer keeps trying to sell you the deluxe model with lots of option slots. This baby might not look the sleekest, but you'll pay for exactly what you want, and nothing more.

Foundational Cyberaudio Suite A Discount Cyberaudio Suite contains a large and obvious outer component installed around the users ears. It has 1 Option Slot for Cyberaudio Options. User can only have one Cyberaudio Suite installed
   

Amplified Hearing:

This system improves hearing and sound recognition ability.

Cyberaudio Option. User adds a +2 to their Perception Skill for Checks which include hearing. Multiple installations provide no additional benefits.
   

Audio Recorder:

Audio recording hardware, and an AltLink connection to connect it to an Agent.

Cyberaudio Option. User can record audio to a standard Memory Chip or to a linked Agent.
   

Bug Detector:

This mini-receiver is designed to pick up signals transmitted by all types of radio bugs. When a bug is active, its transmissions make a small beeping noise in the back of your head, getting louder as you get closer to the bug.

Cyberaudio Option. Notifies, and guides a user to bugs within 2m.
   

EBM PiR2:

EBM's version of the basic Drake Internal Agent improves reliability without increasing the risk of migranes.

Cyberaudio Option. Fully functional Agent controlled entirely via voice commands. Images are described, but output can be linked to a Chyron or nearby screen if visual output is desired. The implanted Agent's Memory Chip cannot be removed without surgery. This model boasts exceptional encryption, requiring a DV21 to Breach with physical access, and DV24 to Breach remotely.
   

Homing Tracer:

This option allows the user to follow a homing tone broadcast from an external sender with a mile long range. The tone increases in volume as the user gets closer to the target. Comes with one homing tracer, but more can be purchased.

Cyberaudio Option. Can follow a linked tracer up to 1 mile away. Comes with a free button-sized linked tracer, with replacements costing 50 eb each.
   

Level Damper:

Automatic system that compensates for loud noises.

Cyberaudio Option. User is immune to deafness or other effects caused by dangerously loud noises, such as those produced by a flashbang.
   

Mediaware BrainGen:

A discount Agent, cheaply made but readily available. Rumors of security exploits allowing direct access to a user's brain are unsubstantiated and considered libelous by the company.

Cyberaudio Option. Fully functional Agent controlled entirely via voice commands. Images are described, but output can be linked to a Chyron or nearby screen if visual output is desired. The implanted Agent's Memory Chip cannot be removed without surgery. This model features multiple security vulnerabilities , requiring a DV15 to Breach with physical access, and DV17 to Breach remotely.
   

Radar Detector:

This implant searches for radar beams, and produces a tone for the user when one is encountered.

Cyberaudio Option. Beeps if active radar beam is present within 100m.
   

Radio Communicator:

Microminiature radio transceiver usually mounted at the base of your skull. Activated by sub-vocalization.

Cyberaudio Option. User can communicate by radio, 1-mile range.
   

Radio Scanner/Music Player:

Miniature radio scanner built into the skull. Covers most news or music stations in Night City, as well as all major Police, Ambulance, fire, and Trauma Team communication bands. Can also play audio off of Memory Chips inserted into a Chipware Socket, or devices connected via AltLink

Cyberaudio Option. User can use an Action to scan all radio bands within a mile that are currently being used, and tune into them. Music can play directly from a Memory Chip, or connected device. If the user has a connected Agent with CitiNet access, they can link to the Data Pool and stream or download music directly.
   

Raven MicroCybernetics Drake:

A common model of implanted Agent, with no stand out features, but no great weaknesses.

Cyberaudio Option. Fully functional Agent controlled entirely via voice commands. Images are described, but output can be linked to a Chyron or nearby screen if visual output is desired. The implanted Agent's Memory Chip cannot be removed without surgery. This model houses pretty standard encryption, requiring a DV17 to Breach with physical access, and DV21 to Breach remotely.
   

Rocklin Augmentics Neuron:

A post-war design just hitting the market, Rocklin's Neuron uses revolutionary new technology to project directly via the user's optic nerve, eliminating the need for cyberoptics.

Cyberaudio Option. Fully functional Agent controlled entirely via voice commands. Images are projected directly into the user's optic nerve, but output can be linked to a nearby screen if visual output is desired. The implanted Agent's Memory Chip cannot be removed without surgery. This model boasts exceptional encryption, requiring a DV21 to Breach with physical access, and DV24 to Breach remotely.
   

Scrambler/Descrambler:

This implant improves a user's Radio Scanner by connecting a scrambler/descrambler module to it. This will allow you to encrypt outgoing communications, or decrypt incoming ones for which you have the key.

Cyberaudio Option. Allows user to scramble outgoing communications so they cannot be understood without a descrambler with the appropriate key. Connects to a user's other Cyberaudio implants automatically, or can be connected to an external communications device by interface Plugs.
   

Signal Jammer:

Is your mainline spending more time talking to their Agent than cuddling with you? Solve the problem with the Signal Jammer! Now available as pop up cat ears!

The user projects a wide spectrum frequency field over a 3m radius Anyone in the field, including the user, who attempts to transmit or receive a wireless signal must take an Action and succeed at a DV13 Electronics/Security Tech Check. Multiple installations of this cyberware instead add range extending hardware, and bolster the signal, increasing the range to 6m radius at DV14 with a second, or 9m radius at DV15 with a third installation.
   

Voice Stress Analyzer:

This implant improves a user's Radio Scanner by connecting a scrambler/descrambler module to it. This will allow you to encrypt outgoing communications, or decrypt incoming ones for which you have the key.

Cyberaudio Option. User adds +2 to their Human Perception and Interrogation Skills   User can activate a special lie-detecting function for a minute with an Action, during which time the GM rolls all your Human Perception and Interrogation Checks privately, and the device will beep whenever it detects a lie. Has a chance of displaying false positives or negatives if the rolls fail.
