Last Vestige of The Real Sin Oro

While the current Sin Oro is a brutal dictatorship being manipulated by Harpsbilge, Libertaila retains the spirit and culture of the original. It was formed before the revolution, so it used to hold strong political ties with the nation. Now, however, it has cut all ties to the government and has instead gotten into contact with rebels. Libertalia hopes to assist in the reclaiming of its beloved country and will go to any means necessary.
The population is mostly Sin Oran in origin, but a number of locals of the Six Seas, including a healthy helping of Bodari from neighbouring islands. Among the Sin Oran natives are the few living people who might hold legitimate claims to the command of the Sin Oran government (those on the mainland were purged after the revolution).

Welcoming to All But Harps

The population here is welcoming to basically everybody - pirates included - so long as they don't cause serious trouble. Harps, on the other hand, are completely unwelcome. Even Harpish civilians are completely unwelcome unless they have others to vouch for them (like their crewmates, for example). Libertalians, perhaps rightfully, fear that Harpsbilge plans to overthrow them much like the mainland was overthrown.

Liberty Served on a Platter

Because of the inherently welcoming culture of Sin Oro, Libertalia is the perfect retreat for those unwanted elsewhere, or those seeking to be free. Some members of The Baronies of Upir have managed to make it here, as have a number of pirates seeking to do away with their past crimes. In return for the high cost of living, which is given to rebels on the mainland, the Libertalians ensure that any such people remain free and happy on the island.
