The Harps' Farthest Harbour
Far from any other settlements owned by Harpsbilge and even farther from the mainland, Port Trombone is the full extent of Harpsbilge's outreach into the northern Wild Sea. The Harpsbilgian Royal Navy does it's best to support the port in flourishing, thus establishing a strong foothold in the region, but that has yet to happen. For now, the port remains as a money drain for the empire, which doesn't yet plan on letting those sunk costs go to waste.A Frontier Yet To Be Claimed
Port Trombone is miniscule in comparison to most other settlements owned by Harpsbilge, even if it is on an island which could hold far more people. The population is quite scattered as a result of the ample space. To further compound upon this, the settlement has yet to find an industry to support it, other than servicing passing ships, most of which don't even go here first when in the region.A number of interested parties have made efforts to gain a footing in the settlement, with the purpose of turning massive profits through controlling the industry. Thus far, however, all attempts have failed due to either poor business or poor luck. It's ruoured that The Flint Guild has it's eye on the settlement now, and is plotting something.
