Aarakocra

Most aarakocra live on the Plane of Air although sometimes are drawn to the material plane for a number of reasons including to pursue an enemy, flee a disaster, follow a task or sometimes simply by accident.
On the material plane they have no real homeland or presence, forming nests atop high mountains and guarding portals back to their home plane.

Appearance

Humanoid birdfolk, aarakocra are slightly shorter than the average human, sporting feathers all over their bodies and a large set of wings on their backs. Males usually have bright and colourful plumage while females tend to have more subdued colours. They have sharp talons which can be used as weapons and are quite lightweight and thin.
