The Divine Conspiracy

Lead by Alistair Amble, the Divine Conspiracy as he coined it, was made out of a state of contempt with the way the nation was being run. Whether it be social, political or religious, they all share one goal. They will not stop until they usurp the government and then seize control of the world. Of course, one man can not rule an entire world, but one God certainly can
Starting with the leader, Alistair Amble himself. The CEO of Amble Technologies and founder of the Conspiracy, Alistair and his younger brother Chris both felt frustration, growing with such fortune while others suffered, sometimes due to their morally bankrupt father who would sell their technology to whoever would buy. He also grew to believe that another reason was just how divided the world was. They were all human yet they let petty things like religion, status and nationality blind them, leading to a "You vs Us" mentality. Eventually when his father dies, Alistair took control over the company and used his money and influence to help others until one of his scientists uncovered the Mythos Gene. To further this development, Alistair undertook an experiment and awoke to Yahweh. However, his full power was limited, the changes he could make to the world around him temporary. Still, this power could change the world. As such, he started hunting for disgruntled citizens and enlisted them into his conspiracy while the scientist hunted for a way to expand Alistair's divine power
But to overtake a super power like the United States, one needs a lot of man power. That's where their conspiracy's military general comes in. Sargent Maren Bogarde had grown up in a military family with a history going back to the first World War. As time went on she grew to feel disdain for world as the nations her family fought for years were becoming buddy-buddy with the US, invalidating their sacrifice. This reached a boiling point whenever she was told to pull out of the Middle East after being dispatched to hunt down a terrorist group. Enraged, her and a sect of her forces refused, resigned and hunted down the terrorists on their own. Afterwards, Maren and her men formed a mercenary group, a private military not limited by borders or governments. At least that was until they took a job from Alistair Amble. The Divine Conspiracy needed not only soldiers, but soldiers who understood his ideals. Maren agreed to convert her mercenaries into his own privately funded and trained army. Those who didn't like it were allowed to leave but were warned, if they told anyone, they had records of them and everyone they loved. For the sake of one nation under god, the lives of a few soldiers and their families was a small price. As for Maren, she would act as the general and Alistair's right hand. She slowly developed feelings for him. The mission came first and besides, a god would have no time for a mere mortal anyway
The will of the people is also a powerful thing. As such, Amble recruited two other members to focus on the political and religious fronts. The elder brother, Donald Benedict entered the world of politics immediately out of High School. Having always had a way with words, people generally flocked to him but the issue was that he lacked proper funding for nationwide campaign for presidency. That's where Alistair came in. However, Donald could tell immediately that there would be a catch. Alistair would tell him his plans for the world and after a quick demonstration of his power, agreed to join. He would run his campaign as normal, but whenever Alistair needed something, normally a new bill that would earn the favor of the people, he would have to make sure it got passed by any means necessary
The younger brother, Damian, was always a bit odd. He bared this bizarre hatred for the world. It was so calm, so peaceful so...boring. Sure there was the occasional tragedy but nothing that would send the world into chaos like there was back in the 20th Century. Still, for most of his life, he hid this feeling. Nobody should have such horrible thoughts, right? That's what he thought until he began his research. Of all the books he read, there was one that caught his eye, The Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce. While most of the book was satire, there was one part that caught his eye. The chief factor of progress in the human race is malefactors. This explained everything to him. Not only was it normal to feel this way, it was part of his purpose. He was to make the world better by plunging it into darkness only for the rest of humanity to come out of it better. So he took on that role with joy, forming his own group, the Cult of Erebus, a cult of like-minded folk, mostly young people, who commit horrible acts. Between terrorist attcks, forcefully converting innocents and just general rioting, they make the perfect boogy man for Maren's army to fight and for Donald to promise to obliterate as part of his campaign
The final key member of this conspiracy may be the most influential. Dr. Julian Eos was an oddball in the scientific field. He specialized in magic, mainly the science behind what is typically considered magic. This outlandish field of study was what earned him the attention of Alistair Amble. He wanted someone who would think outside the box to find that next big innovation that would help him achieve his goals. He would provide all the necessary funding, staff and technology and Eos would research whatever he saw fit. To this end he made two discoveries, the Mythos Gene and the existence of the Collective Unconcious. It was him who awoke Amble's Mythos Gene, a move he would soon regret as his research team was forced to carry out experiments on kidnapped students from Maiorum High School. Four of these test subjects would escape but he would still work for the Divine Conspiracy out of fear, creating a portal to the Collective Unconcious that released hordes of monsters. After the portal was destroyed by the escaped test subjects, he would join with them and use his next project to help them, the power to awaken other, less dominant Mythos genes that can gave them access to new abilities
