Life, Relationship change
After defeating the Benedict brothers and exposing the Divine Conspiracy, the group celebrates with a massive party while the angels try to think of what to do
The Angels stand before Maren and a furious Alistair. Crushing a glass in his hand in pure frustration he demands to know what happened. When Jerrod tries to explain he was slammed against the while with a simple glare. Amber immediately went to attack but Alistair dodges. He questions what she's doing? He's merely punishing failure. Amber instead demands she be punished. She's in charge so this failure is hers. Alistair was impressed and dropped Jerrod. He explains that the failure belongs to the individual and no one else. But he'll go easy for now, out of respect for her selflessness. He hopes the rest of the world can be like her when he rules. Leave him. He'll call on them when ready On their way back, Taylor teases her about how she's cute when she's determined but she shakes her head. Despite his words, Alistair is still clearly angry. Maren puts a hand on his shoulder and tries to remind him, they're strong but they're just kids. Don't be so rough. He nods and apologizes. He then asks her to talk with Amber. He knew how close they were and wanted her to make sure she was ok The Angels go to the gym, taking in their failures. People can be seen outside the window demanding Alistair to respond. Jerrod is constantly punching the punching bag in a rage. It's clearly hurting his broken hand. Amber tries to stop him but he refuses, saying a weakling like her has no right to order him around. Tyler intervened before things could get violent and reminded him of two things. One, she is more of a leader than he is, so yes she has every right to order him around. Two, she's just looking out for his well-being. Suddenly the door opened and they all snapped to attention. Maren raised a hand, insisting them to stand at ease. She sat down, patting the empty spot next to her on bench and Amber sat down. It was obvious she was holding back tears but Maren assured her that it's ok. They're not on the battlefield right now so she can let her emotions out. As if on command, she burst into tears. Not only did Jarred get hurt, the rogue Mythos Users got away and it almost got them punished. Jarred scoffed and told her to dry her tears. Like Alistair said, their failure is theirs, not hers. Crying won't fix it Taylor smiled, telling her that crying doesn't suit her. It's bad for morale Amber smiled and nodded, saying she was right. Maren offered to take them all out to eat, to which they agree Back with Alec and the group, they immediately throw a party to celebrate exposing the conspiracy. Chris doesn't feel good celebrating before they've won but Jayden slaps his back and tells him to live a little. Soda and Pizza fill the warehouse as Akane just casually took some from the nearest pizzaria. They just generally have fun, holding a fighting game contest, watching movies. It's just another moment to let kids be kids JAYDEN As they're eating, Alec sits with Jayden. This is officially the coolest thing they've ever done! They just exposed a conspiracy to take over the world! How do we do better than that? He then went silent for a moment before saying there is one more thing they can do. He wants to help Jerrod. He explains what they were talking about back in the Void. Jerrod's dad was a cop and Jayden's uncle was an ex-convict. When his dad found out a cop was taking bribes, he tried to expose him. Instead the cop killed Jayden's uncle and framed his dad. Even worse, his parents bought into it so he couldn't see Jarred again. Well, if that's the lesson he learned that day, Jayden just has to teach Jerrod in the only language he'll listen to. Power. He'll get stronger and show that these things aren't set in stone. Alec can either encourage him or ask what if Ra takes over again. Jayden answers that Doc said that one can stand up to the many. he doesn't think that's always true. After all, they're taking on a massive group and there's just six of them. But in this case, he's certain he can win a one on one. With an arrogant smirk he asks "What a milennia old bird to someone like me?" CHRIS After the party, Chris recieves a message from Amber. She wants to meet up. Knowing this could be a trap, he asks if they want to come with him and of course, they agree. Only to shadow him though. They deserve some alone time. They meet up at the Statue of Liberty. The two always wanted to go there together when they were little. When they arrive, the group hides and lets them talk. Chris immediately asks if she's here for a fight and she just giggles shaking her head. She teases him for always being so paranoid before admitting she's partially at fault for that. She then looks up and grins as she had an idea. They always wanted to come here, wanna sit on the crown and with a sigh, Chris agrees while commenting he can't keep up with her energy sometimes. Using their ice and vines, they make their way up and just stare at the city in an awkard silence. Eventually Chris finally asks, why did she join with his brother? Amber answers that she just wants to make amends. Alistair promised that if she joined, he'd assure his safety. While hurt that it took that, Chris smiled and said she didn't have to do that but she insists she did. She treated him like crap in public and could only deliver half-assed apologies and gifts in private. That doesn't make up for it. Chris shakes his head, telling her it's more than enough. He never once blamed her which shocked her but she couldn't help but smile, tearing up. She stood up to leave but asks if they can do this again when this is done, to which he nodded. After parting ways, Akane asked if he thought it went well. Chris nods and reminds her of their conversation on the plane. Maya was right, she's just doing what she thinks is right. So he has to do the same. If she can make time for that during a war, why can't he? He'll stop his brother and he'll help everyone while doing it AKANE AND MAYA While still in town, Chris comes up with an idea. Like he said, he was going to help who he can and that includes his classmates. He's noticed Maya doesn't open up as much with them as she does Akane, so he set something up real quick. He reserved a popular date spot in Barrow Street. Jayden was shocked he could just do that on such short notice and they hurried there to get everything set up. When finished, they called the girls to come with Jayden leading Akane to her table. Maya came next and Chris and Alec explained the situation. While intially angry, she agrees. She has something she wants to say too. With that, she sits down. Akane was already stuffing her face, making Maya chuckle. As she snapped a picture. The two would talk about just whatever, having a good time before Maya began nervously tapping her finger on the table. Akane began to ask what's wrong but was interrupted as she exclaimed "Ilikeyou!" Akane seemed confused, her face turning red as she asked what she meant by that. Avoiding eye contact, she answered that she felt that way for a while. She's always had her back, she always felt like she could open up to her. Honestly the only thing stopping her was her memories of Taylor. But given the circumstances, if she's ever going to say it, it's now or never. Akane didn't mind but asked if she was sure about this. After all, a relationship may make it hurt more if something goes wrong. But Maya just smiled. She spent too much time focusing on what ifs. She's going to focus on what is and she is willing to give this a shot if she is. Akane, pleased with her response, agreed ALEC AND TYLER The rest of the group had already returned to the but Alec recieves a text from his Uncle Tyler. He can choose to ignore it but should he go, he'll meet him just outside Maiorum High, remenicsing about when he got Alec into the school. Alec can either thank him or ask if that was a trick for his boss. If he chooses the first option, Tyler chuckles, saying anything for him. If he chooses the second option, he just looks disgusted. Either way, he says he didn't want it to go this way. He never wanted to fight. With a sigh, he insists Alec go home. His parents are worried sick and his cousin misses him. Alec can explain that he wants to but he can't or simply remind him that this is bigger than him. If the second one is picked, he shouts that's exactly why he should back out! It's too big for him. Calmling down, he just explains that he's doing all of this so they can have a safe and secure life in the new world. All he cared about was that. He can't bare fighting him. Seeing him trembling, Alec can pat his back and assure him everything will be fine. But he has the power to stop this. Then they can be safe. Tyler looks at him and smiled, happy to see him grown into a responsible man. They'll still have to fight and if he wins, he'll force Alec to back out. But if he makes it, that wouldn't be so bad either
