Dain, of the Iron Hills
Also known as Dain II, Ironfoot, he was the King of the Dwarves of the Iron Hills which settled in the Iron Hills after Smaug, The Magnificent took Erebor from the Dwarves.
He heard word of his cousin, Thorin Oakenshield, attempting to take back Erebor, and headed to aid him with an army for Dwarves of the Iron Hills. They arrived after Smaug's death, but in time for The Battle of Five Armies. Dain's intervention would have been critical to the Dwarves success, but wound up being part of the successful defense from the Orc army that attacked.
After the battle he acted in a conciliatory mood and his generosity in the settlement towards humans and elves affected by the long years of the dragons terror allowed for an era of good feeling and a fresh start for civilization in the lands of the North.
