Biological parent of Dain, of the Iron Hills.
He was a cousin of Thrain II whose family had long resided in the Iron Hills ruling as King there. He was a leading participant in the WAR OF DWARVES AND ORCS . He died fighting the Orc King AZOG at the BATTLE OF AZANULBIZAR where he died in single combat with Azog before the gates of MORIA.
