New Year challenge in Mirateia | World Anvil

New Year challenge

So it's this time of the year again and this weird tradition of New Year resolutions is coming at us again. When it comes to new year resolutions I guess mine would be to write more for my sci-fi world but I have been telling myself that for a long time so it's not likely to happen, so for the resolution for Mirateia is probably going to be to expand on both the Empire of Dercia but also on some the more general parts of the world like the pantheons of the gods.

These are the 10 articles that I found interesting.

The imperial guards
Military Formation | Feb 28, 2024

Imperial guards are not only the most elite fighters in the country but also elite politicians. Always around the emperor and his soulmates, they are at the heart of power in the empire and do not refrain from influencing it.

  • I found this article interesting and it has given me some good inspiration for future articles about guards or updating my Imperial Guard article.

Imperial citizens
Ethnicity | Feb 28, 2024

The inhabitants of the most powerful country on Earth. Despite a huge variety, they share similar values—respect of the emperor & the social hierarchy—and culture—a love for building painting competitions and martial magical card games.

  • I liked this article; it will help provide some good inspiration for articles about the citizens of one of the nations in Mirateia.

Influence of the Shards
Condition | Dec 6, 2023

The corruptive influences a Shard may inflict upon the unwitting and unwilling.

  • Learned from this article that 1) Hanhula is amazing at writing spooky articles and 2) reading it gave some inspiration for writing darker articles

Aenica
Geographic Location | Dec 4, 2023

Aenica is the largest and most populated continent on Etrea, home to over one billion people and stretching from the polar north to south past the equator.

  • Found this article great at giving inspiration for writing about the continent, while this world has more continents than Mirateia it still provides plenty of inspiration.

Sepán Eligav
Material | Dec 15, 2023
  • I found this article's inspiration interesting for how it did the material and I might find ways to incorporate similar items in my world.

Wyvern
Species | Dec 5, 2023
  • I like this article because it gives good inspiration for how I could do dragons in Mirateia as Mirateia currently has very few dragons for a fantasy world, and I also like how these articles start with a quote from someone.

Rorqual
Vehicle | Jan 10, 2024
  • This article is great for the simple reason that I always have liked flying ships, but also because it has so many details about the ship anything from where the rooms on the ship were to having the "poop deck"
Izral
Character | Feb 29, 2024

God of Change, War, Bravery and Suffering

  • This article gave me some serious inspiration to create more of my gods
Barbas
Geographic Location | Dec 3, 2023

A continent on Capepo. Barbas consists of several hundred thousand islands scattered around a tropical ocean.

  • As always Mochi makes great articles and this is yet another one, and I like that it gives exo-planetary tourists a recommendation for a visit.

Titanium
Material | Feb 2, 2024

Bobby why are we talking about Titanium? Rose asked.

  • This article might be useful when I get around to writing about some of the ships in my sci fi world
