Fort Salrich

Perched strategically on a rugged hillside, Fort Salrich stands as an imposing sentinel over the surrounding valleys. Its weathered stone walls, hewn from local quarries in the surrounding hills, it blends almost seamlessly with the natural terrain. The fort, a testament to medieval engineering and military foresight, serves as both a fortress and a symbol of the region's enduring strength.   The fort serves as a halfway point for the caravan guards protecting the Emerald Way. Here the soldiers rest and recouperate, often switching shifts with other guards coming in meeting at the halfway point in the route.
