Trinsk

Trinsk is located in south-central Volinsk off The River Sofia, a tributary of the Sturmfesht River. It is one of the smallest of the capital cities, and gathers most of its resources from timber, fish, and a variety of mines that line its western border. These mines include: iron, copper, silver, sapphires, and mithril. Also notable in Trinsk is the Trinsk Communal Farm, a homestead operated by the citizens that supplies food to the populace. Many of the cities and provinces of Volinsk regard Trinsk as uncivilized, uncouth, and unfashionable.     Places of Note: Tarquinrock – Tarquinrock is the ancestral home and castle of the VonHughGraven Family. It is perched upon a small plateau with a winding road leading up to its heavy gates. Composed of two spires, square walls that enclose the keep proper, and a fenced in graveyard and catacomb system, Tarquinrock has been recently taken over by Manfred Von HughGraven after the Battle of Ilserock left him with a claim on the Throne of Trinsk.   Guard Tower of Trinsk: This guard tower keeps watch on the northeastern sector of Greater Trinsk and is currently empty. Many of the guardsmen accompanied Herkemer on his trip to wage war on his brother, those that did not have spread themselves as needed in the proper city of Trinsk.   The Gristhaus – A masterwork of famed Volinskian architect Heinrich Gustal, this mill stands over The River Sofia as it empties into the northern egress of Lake Sinnyi.   Trinsk Communal Farm: This large field holds a wide variety of crops during the growing season and is tended by a number of Trinsk’s citizens.   Lake Sinnyi: The main water source for Trinsk, and an important source of food and trade.   Slums of Trinsk: The slums of Trinsk are located just off the docks and lakeside.   Gooseberry Bog: This boggy patch of land grows wild gooseberries and a number of other wildflowers and herbs.   Trinsk Square Market: The center of trade for Trinsk.   Well & Guardhouse: Within the confines of the town square are a stone well that serves as the water source for many of the citizens of Trinsk, and a guardhouse that serves as the main command post for the Trinsk City Watch.   Belladonna Inn: Maintaining a strict contract with the Merchant’s Guild, this is the only true Inn in the city of Trinsk. It’s large enough on the inside to accommodate a large number of guests and is run with love and care by the Schwanhausser Family. The family is comprised of a number of good cooks who are always trying new and interesting things with the offerings from the Communal Farm.   Pantheonic Temple: Because of the presence of Vanar-Hale, the Pantheonic Temple has been converted into a temple of Hysterion, with the presence of all other Gods being removed and church service a mandatory condition punishable by imprisonment in the stocks. The temple is run by Holly of Bourne, a pilgrim and priestess of Ametiterius. Behind the temple is a large, fenced in cemetery which has been consecrated to protect it from the undead that so frequently plagues Volinsk.   Coppershaft’s Forge & Anvil: The smithy and armory in town is run by three members of the Coppershaft Family; a group of dwarves from Earthhome. The prices are high, but the Coppershaft's stand by every item they make.   Trinsk Burgomaster’s Manor: The Burgomaster of the town is Sirus Nabakov, a former timber merchant who is also head of the Merchant’s Guild. The Burgomaster’s house was once lavishly furnished but after meeting with Sirus, Vanar-Hale ordered all of the wealthy trappings of the home to be redistributed to the poorer families (who abruptly sold them to make ends meet). The manor house is surrounded by a large decorative wrought iron fence.
