Session 7: Things That Go Bump in the Dark

General Summary

Cenday, 12th Zenith 211 EoL

After having successfully fought off the attack on Firebeard's ship, some of the group wanted to get to know the Captain a little better. All they managed to get out of him, however, was the info that his abilities appeared in his childhood and few hairs.   When Fayaar's Fang arrived in Diernum, the captain gave them their money back and told them he and Birdy just wanted to have a little fun. Unbeknownst to the rest of the group, Mini received a ruby gem from Firebeard to celebrate her bargaining skills.   Upon leaving the Firewhale, the group was greeted by soldiers from the empire. They presented Birdy's letter to the soldiers, and were then brought to the Inperiur. There, the group had the chance to present their information about the smuggler's den and the involvement of the Drow, as well as the Praetur's compliance, to the Lagetum of the 47th Legion. The Lagetum remained rather silent and thoughtful throughout. It might not have been the reaction the group was hoping for. Unfortunately, there was not a lot the Lagetum could do at this point. As a military man, he was technically in service to the Praetur and the political situation with the Drow is rather delicate. Therefore, any action had to be considered rather carefully. Especially so, because the Lagetum could not simply leave Diernum behind. Nonetheless, the Lagetum decided to send a Centuriae back to Adanum to keep a closer eye on the Praetur and the Drow.   For a price, the Fang decided to help the military out. Maybe through their help, the Legion could advance enough to provide the Lagetum an opportunity to return back to Adanum. Their goal was to travel to the mysterious tower within the jungle, as the Lizardfolk kept their distance from it. The hope was to find out why and maybe use that to the military's advantage. Coincidently, it is also the very same tower, that Silvio wanted to investigate.   As the group was about to receive further explanations from the Primus Tribunus, the alarm bells sounded. The Lizardfolk were launching a large attack on Diernum. While most of the soldiers were drawn to one of the main gates, the Lizardfolk used Numian technology to blow a hole through the wooden palisades at a different location. It was the Fang who, together with the assistance of a nearby watchtower who managed to stop the Lizardfolk from spilling into the camp.
