Prime Minister Gareth Pancem (a.k.a. The Republican)
Born in Virnos, Gareth grew up working in his parents bakery in the poor area of the city. He had a tough upbringing and eventually traveled to Singlar where he studied at the famous Singlar Academy. After returning he eventually joined up with Guild Hyperios by accident and played a role in the Third Virnosian War, specifically The Battle of Castle Hyperios.
After surviving the Battle of Castle Hyperios Gareth and his Half-Orc friend, Grug, traveled for reasons unknown. They wound up running into Tutiro Cam and Norixius Sorra Day Dreamer during The Battle of Lyath'Or.
After successfully fleeing the battle they headed North, and wound up in Eir-Bron. During their extremely brief stay here Gareth specifically dueled a formidable Gir'An warrior in one-on-one combat as a favor to Atrul Shattershield.
The group soon headed north, where Gareth and Grug participated in and survived the famous Battle of the Frozen Temple. After surviving the battle him and Grug traveled back to Eir-Bron where he had private conversations with Atrul Shattershield.
Gareth returned to Virnos and played a large part in the Virnosian Uprising, helping lead a faction of the rebels called the Children of the Republic. Leading the group cost him dearly, with his families bakery being leveled in an artillery barrage and his best friend Grug nearly being killed. Despite the setbacks Gareth participated in the final battle for Virnos, and was as shocked as anyone when the Atresan army marched in and took control.
Not to be knocked out, Gareth soon took to rebuilding his home city. He was selected by Tutiro personally to be one of the people to lead the temporary government of Virnos. During the rest of the Year of the Dragon Gareth, with the help of The Wayfarers, managed to convince Tutiro Cam to go to war with Tharrisia. Tutiro made him the Commanding General of the Eastern Union Expeditionary Force. He took to the generalship well and managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat during the Battle of 14 Nations.
Upon returning home after the Year of the Dragon, Gareth became even more of a local hero. When time came for an official government to be set up for Virnos in the shape of the Citizen's Representative Council of Virnos, Gareth ran for election and won quite handily. He continued to lead the reconstruction of the city and also used some minor power on the Council to rebuild his parents bakery.
During the Rischer Crisis, Gareth once again took up arms and led the Atresan-aligned Virnosian forces in battle against Rischer, crushing her rebellion quite handily and without much bloodshed. In the ensuing reforms that saw the Citizen's Representative Council dissolved and replaced with the Virnosian Senate Gareth was elected as the first Prime Minister of the Senate.
Gareth has become one of the most pro-Virnosian voices in Tutiro's ear (which he begrudgingly accepts) and one of its most beloved leaders. He has taken a few terms off from being Prime Minister, but usually runs and wins again when he so wishes.
He is currently serving his 6th term.
