Uspa

One of the five major continents on Itorah, Uspa is mid-sized with a varied climate. Located in the north, Uspa is one of the three continents connected via the North Pole's sheet ice, which reflects in its glacier-marked north. Uspa houses a great many biomes, ranging from tundra to forests to grasslands and wetlands.

Geography

Uspa is home to a great variety of biomes, from tundras and taigas pockmarked by lakes and bogs created by past glaciers, into temperate grasslands and forests, all the way to hot semi-arid steppes and shrubland.

Ecosystem Cycles

Uspa counts four seasons, though the expression of them varies across the continent. In some areas the summers may be dry and winters wet, whereas others may see the opposite, and yet another may experience frequent rainfall across the entire year, or rarely at all. Likewise, temperatures vary greatly across the continent, and little can be said of averages.   Spring in Uspa counts March, April, and May. Summer is June, July, and August, the longest days of the year. Autumn spans September, October, and November. Finally, winter, the darkest days of the year, counts December, January, and February.

Climate

As a mid-sized continent, Uspa sees quite a bit of variation in climates. Its far north meets the sheet ice of the North Pole, and thus sees tundra, transitioning into subarctic humid climates. From there, more variation exists, with different climates found on either coast or inland, ranging from the aforementioned tundra in the north all the way to hot semi-arid steppes in the south.
