Nendis
The illustrious School of the Arcane in Caelfall.
Purpose / Function
The school was built by one of Komia's former students to build a relationship with the kingdom of Daitor and combat the growing power of the Mage Hunters and offer a stationary institution on the continent to offer training in Krogar.
Alterations
Originally a town hall, the Silver Palace has undergone extensive changes over the centuries. First expanded to house the mage students of Komia, they used their magic to transform the humble lodge into an extravagantly designed palace. every few decades the silver palace expands, and now it houses many hundreds of rooms for students, studies, and government work for the Duchess.
Architecture
The magically produced stones have a silvery sheen to them, which is where the nickname of Nendis is derived. with each new High Magus, the architecture can change depending on that individuals particular tastes. as it stands now, the Palace is royal and opulent in design, serving as both school and governors mansion. Lillian Adisa is fond of flowing themes that intersect and create a new theme.
History
Caelfall was originally a farming settlement with small seaport three days away that it supported, when Komia's students arrived to offer their Arcane talents they were welcomed wearily. For years the students would offer meager assistance with their magics, tending crops stymieing droughts with magical rain, mending broken tools and shelters. over time the community accepted them and the city blossomed from a smaller city that mostly provided food for the kingdom to a rapidly growing city of knowledge and advancement. As the city expanded, the center was transformed into a large palace, where the Mages resided and offered training as well as a number of services. within the last 100 years, the importance of the Silver Palace has grown even more pronounced as the High Magus was rewarded with the title of Duchess.
