Imaginaerium, Day 14 - Writin' Weekend

I have a new power with this page and pen. I can write whatever I want on it. I can tell whatever story I think we should tell.
— Bri Marino
The weekend is finally here, and for many of us, that means we can finally sit down and get to writin' without work draining our brainpower with endless meetings, memos, and emails. Some of you will feel stressed about "catching up", if the prompts haven't been written during the week, but remember, it keeps going all month. Pace yourself, stay hydrated, and have fun.   And write! Also, come hang out in the Discord with all the other campers!

Video Recommendation

When in doubt, the sea-people did it.
Today's video is a long and fascinating look at the collapse of the Bronze Age civilization, talking about (and dispelling) some of the myths and examining the complex global trade network that made the age what it was. Highly recommended, no matter what kind of metal you base your setting on.

Podcast Recommendation

The Cryptonaut podcast talks about cryptozoological encounters and critters, and the more rare and weird is just goldmines for worldbuilding ideas. If you think the Yeti's a bit boring, what about hairy terrestrial octopi?

Music Recommendation

From what is probably one of my favorite games and one of the most atmospheric ones I've ever played: Darkest Dungeon       Bonus: the excellent Darkest Dungeon Trailer!
We are the flame, they cry, and darkness fears us!

Summer Camp Article Of The Day

Antikithara by Sloqush is another part of weird and wonderful Cenorad setting. I like when settings do something unusual, something I haven't seen before, and it feels like every other article in Cenorad is just that.   Here's the part from Antikithara that really made me decide that yep, this was going to be today's recommendation:
the Antikithara utilize the shape-shifting capabilities of their adolescent years to shape themselves into gears, springs and other fine mechanical components and then subsequently combine the bodies of several individuals into a complex clockwork automaton.
D&D druids, eat your heart out. Call me when you can transform your organs into functional, interlocking cogs.

Driven by their need for continued mobility, these Ausuvir willingly become a mere gear within the machinery of the greater whole.
