SE07 : EP01 - A Simple Honey Run - Part I

General Summary

It's been two weeks since the societal shift in response to the discovery of the Radiant Citedeal. Lord Daphix has been elected to the position of Speaker to Citedel, leaving the Meridians with more vacancies at the top. The younger members of the organization look to the junior officers for leadership.
Sensing the need to make more inroads to the new blood of the keepers of the The Oculus Naomi Mason proposes a joint mission. A simple Honey Run, described in her words as even simpler than a butter run. She sends along an adventurer from her own pre-council party. This NukKul meets them at the Guildhall They are waiting for the Iris a draft pours out from the portal as a party of guildmembers comes into the chamber carrying the cold with them. They speak of the plane they just came from as a fascinating realm inhabited by a civilization of penguin-like people.
Once clear, the portal "blinks," two adventures walk into a seemingly wooden world with bizarrely oversized objects on the other side, with massive nails just above the opening. After they are safely away, the portal blinks. Wulf Goldbrick yells out the party of Yith, Mobahn, Pryce Merit, & Cassandra. A golden world appears with a carriage manned by Apsids, the bee folk. The party takes command of the wagon as they are asked to wait for one more blink.
The Iris opens, and the room starts to buzz. The current members of Alpha Team walkthrough. This causes a wave of social electricity to roil through the chamber. Jolene approaches them and is cordial as she greets them. She mentions they had been scouting amongst the meridians for potential members. Rafael snorts at this, "Not that we found anyone up to snuff over there with Daphix and Parathas gone." causing the ire of his senior. And with that, she bid the party farewell and turned back to the Iris. The portal blinks open to a nightmarish storm raging across a black sky. Alpha Team walks through.
On the next opening, they see a rolling plain. They durchgang through and ride onto a crossing where they meet their guide Essa, a Yuan-ti. After some awkward introduction, they set off for the two-day journey to the kingdom for delivery. They learn from Essa that the king is only 19 years old and seemingly focused on his own hedonism. 
As they journey on, they stop at a riverside and meet another wagon team. They trade some information as they are traveling in opposite directions. They learn that the kingdom they're headed toward does have a number of Yuan-ti, and the wagoneers warn them of bandits rumored to be traveling the road. The party continues on, getting to know their new companions.
 Later in the day, they find an overturned wagon on the side of the road. Speaking with Essa they ponder if a local hill giant took out the vehicle. They poke around and find little satisfaction in their investigations. At length, they give up and move on. They press on until they pull into a siding for the night.
They took shifts on watch, but before the break of dawn, the party noticed a cart approaching. As they take note of it teeth and eyes appears on the cart, devouring a man. It's mimic!
