Reminian Hoomans

Remininan Hoomans are a subset of Hoomans that have been changed by the harsh Reminian Environment after having settled there for so long.

Physical Differences

Appearance

One of the biggest differences is in their height. The average height for a Reminian is 7ft tall, in comparison with the usual 6ft. They are stronger than the average Hooman, due to living on a much more hostile planet.   Their skin is much paler and extremely sensitive, being very easy to burn under the sun. Reminian Hoomans still have two rows of teeth, however have grown sharper and longer canines in the front row.   They are born with 3 sets of eyes instead of the standard two, and the most common colours range between the yellow to red hue. Other eye variants do sometimes appear, but are much rarer.

Mental Health

Due to being born on a planet that is constantly trying to kill them, Reminians are more paranoid and skittish in comparison, finding it difficult to relax in quiet moments. Effectively their brain is mostly wired to be in survival mode constantly.

Culture

Clothing

Reminian Hoomans wear very practical clothing that protects them from the environmental dangers of the planet. A lot of their clothing is passed down or patchworked together to prolong the use of it a much as possible.

Masks

As per tradition, Reminian younglins are given a mask when they turn 5, however, it is more of a representational item, as they will be spending more time wearing protective headwear instead. Some Reminians choose to either leave their mask at home or attach it to their bag or clothing.   The headgear they actually wear are usually made up of two separate components to make it easier to swap out parts when dealing with different enviorments. These are less colourfully designed if at all, but occasionally the Reminians like to add onto designs if they are given it.

Beliefs

Reminians are very strong believers in The Songs of the Stars which grew the longer the Reminians stayed on the planet. They believe that the stars will guide them to safety in difficult times. Their Leader usually is also an Oracle as well.

Younglins

Reminian younglins are hardier than the norm, as they have to cope with developing in a hostile world.   Instead of Childcare facilities, Reminians would have underground structures built to hide away and take care of their young. Podlins and infants stayed underground and watched over until they developed properly into younglins.   At the age of 5, they are given their mask and taken up to live on the surface where they are trained to work together and survive. This is the most risky time for a younglin, as it is common for them to die before they reach adulthood.

Relations with other Races

Homeworld

The Homeworld and Reminian Hoomans have had a varied relationship over the years, as Homeworld had originally supplied them with Care Packages to help them survive in the initial crash but eventually ended up losing contact sometime after Alcyone passed away.
Modern Reminia
In modern times, The Reminian Hoomans were unsure if Homeworld was still there, deciding to send a ship in hopes that they would report back.
The survivors that got sent are initially wary of the Homeworld inhabitants but are relieved that there is still a Hooman society on this much safer planet. After reporting back to Reminia, the rest of the Reminians requested Homeworld’s help to leave the planet and come home.

Nasgovian Hoomans

After being told about when the Nasgovians had arrived to Homeworld years before they did, the Reminian Hoomans have begun to pick up some of the cultural differences between the two. However, they less understand why the two groups ended up having a civil war.

Edgevillians

The Reminian Hoomans aren’t sure what to make of the aliens that the Nasgovian Hoomans brought back with them to Homeworld, but believe that they are mostly harmless.
