Brightstar Shipworks
Brightstar Shipworks is the premier (and only official) licensed shipyard on Firstlight Station. Known for its skilled technicians and fast turnaround, Brightstar services Republic transports, private freighters, planetary shuttles, and the occasional Jedi starfighter. The facility sprawls across multiple modular hangars, with huge reinforced blast doors opening to vacuum-exposed docking arms where ships can dock and be craned inside.
Key Services
Ship Repairs: Hull patching, system recalibration, shield recharging, hyperdrive tuning
Modifications: Upgrades to engines, shields, weapons, or sensor arrays (for a price)
Ship Sales: Occasionally deals in secondhand freighters, starfighters, and light transports (often repo’d or salvaged)
Custom Orders: Can fabricate specialized starship components or rare alloys — with enough credits and time
Black Market Deals (hidden): While Brightstar is officially licensed, some of Kira’s underbosses run off-the-books upgrades and smuggling compartments for a trusted (or bribed) few
Sensory & Appearance
Inside, the shipyard is loud, chaotic, and hot — plasma torches hiss, maintenance droids crawl over hulls, and tool carts hum along the decks. The upper levels house control offices, parts storage, and the busy admin office where Kira Venn juggles supply shortages, overdue credits, and impatient captains.
Denizens
Kira Venn (Owner/Chief Engineer): Mirialan, efficient and no-nonsense, has Republic contacts but isn’t above quiet deals with smugglers if they keep her workers paid
“Sprocket” (Foreman Droid): An old, boxy labor droid who runs floor operations with surprising wit and authority; beloved by the crew, known for solving tight mechanical problems
Jax Sann (Salvage Broker): Human, thin and fast-talking, handles sales of secondhand or salvaged ships, sometimes with shady paperwork
Dozens of various humanoid and droid workers
