War of the Guardians
The War of the Guardians was a civil war in Forbin during the 16th century.
War erupted in 1588. One faction, known as the "Westshores" included Gilrim, Westrun, Parroc, and Midrun. These were pitted against the "Longcloaks": Whitevale, Jalussan, Bostin and the Northern Marches.
Pud Springs was the first major battle of the war, as armies of Parroc and Jalussan met in the hills near the source of the River Pud. Parroc won the initial battle, securing all lands west of the River Pud.
A number of smaller conflicts occured over the following months, with White Keep taken by the Longcloaks early in 1589. The Battle of the Parroc Hills was fought late in 1589. In the hills southeast of Manath, the Longcloaks defeated the Westshores, and the town surrendered.
The Longcloaks moved northwards up the Misdorn River, and attacked the town of Misdorn early in 1590. The Battle of Misdorn lasted three days, and after fierce fighting, the town was taken.
With the Westshore forces decisively beaten, the war was effectively over.
