Ashris
Ashris, situated about eight miles south of Daros, is a smaller island with a quieter, more serene atmosphere.
Measuring 10 miles long and 8 miles wide, the island is characterized by its shingle beaches and a rocky interior. Unlike Falseharbour to the north of Daros, Ashris is sparsely wooded, with only a few scattered trees. The landscape is instead dominated by scrubby Chorka shrubs and hardy grasses, well adapted to the rocky soil and dry conditions.
The island is a haven for birdlife, with many species of seabirds nesting in its cliffs and feeding along the shoreline. Colonies of Alyrros are known to nest here, along with other seabirds that use the island as a breeding ground. The abundance of birdlife has made Ashris a popular destination for travelers and scholars interested in studying the unique avian species of the Helerin Archipelago.
Though less rugged than Falseharbour, Ashris is still a remote and isolated place, offering stunning views of the Sea of Fair Winds and an unspoiled natural environment. The island’s rocky shores and quiet interior give it an air of peaceful solitude, with the constant calls of seabirds providing the island’s only soundtrack. Ashris’s natural beauty, combined with its rich birdlife, makes it an important ecological site, though few live there year-round due to the lack of freshwater and shelter.
