Torlani the Breadman
Torlani the Breadman is a baker and bread vendor who frequently sets up his cart in the alley by Assembly Square. He is an old man, bent from years of reaching into ovens, and he employs several boys as runners who deliver bread from his shop to his cart. He wears low-quality auraglass to increase his charisma as he vends bread.
STORY
When searching for witnesses to Adriana Grappo's death, Kissandra Vorcien learns from Madame-under-Magna that Torlani is a good person to ask. After mistaking Kizzie for a Vorcien extortionist, Torlani apologizes but says that he already talked to the Cinders about everything he knew. When she informs him that she is working for Demir Grappo, not the Vorcien, he opens up, admitting that Adriana was his secret patron. He then tells Kizzie he saw one of Adriana's killers run past him and trip, which momentarily loosened his mask, revealing him to be Churian Dorlani. Torlani did not tell the Cinders, knowing that outing a Dorlani guild-family member would be a death sentence. Torlani explains he told Kizzie despite the danger because he likes Demir and wants to help him avenge his mother's death.
