Madame-under-Magna Character in Glass Immortals | World Anvil

Madame-under-Magna

Madame-under-Magna is the chosen name of the beggar who lives in Assembly Square in a nook beneath the statue of the Magna city founder. Her nook is crammed with blankets, newspapers, and odds and ends. She is the most reliable source of information in the city and remains neutral in the feuds between factions and guild-families. She also keeps very strict codes of silence once one side pays her to withhold information. Her given name is Courina, though she corrects people who use it.   STORY   During her investigation of Adriana Grappo's murder, Kissandra Vorcien visits Madame-under-Magna for information. The beggar did witness the killing, but she informs Kizzie that her silence had already been purchased by the Cinders. Instead, working around her promise, Madame-under-Magna tells Kizzie to ask Torlani the Breadman for information instead. During their interaction, Madame-under-Magna also hints about the existence of the Yuglid, calling them "things that walk in the night," though Kizzie does not understand the reference.
