Garot Forest

The Garot Forest is the forest on the northern edge of the Tarnished Mountain and south east of the Wind Blown Plains. The Garot forest is usually split into two sections, the inner forest and the outer forest. The outer forest is relatively well populated and is the largest source of wood for the Republic with massive tree plantations dotting the area. Several towns are in the outer Garot forest as well the city of Sato. The outer edges of the Garot forest is considered relatively safe with only a handful of the horrors from the inner forest making their way to the outer forest. The Province of Redwater has a decent hold on these lands and is a large source of revenue and more importantly ships for their expeditions to Hadasht.
The inner forest is a whole other beast. The inner forest contains a multitude of threats including the hordes of beastman that have recently begun to stir up trouble once again as well as tribes of mountain giants who have made their way down off the Tarnished Mountains into the forests. There are also a number of vicious wild creatures that inhabit the forest making the forest difficult to settle. The forests are a large source of contracts for mercenary work attempting to make sure nothing from the inner forests harass the settlements in the outer forests. There have been a handful of attempts to settle the inner forests by colonists looking to exploit its untapped resources, but most are destroyed within a few weeks and attempts have slowed almost to a halt in the modern era. The center is mostly covered in Redwood trees that tower over the landscape dwarfing even the giants in the area.
