Gaulren

Gaulren is a world split among several super powers. The world has been locked in conflict for several millennia with no faction truly being able to gain the upper hand in the fighting. The largest of the factions is known as the Sovern Republic, formally know as the Republic of Solden and Vernica, and dominates half of each of the two continents. The Republic is ruled by the twin capitals, each ruled by a consul and the senate. The Senate is split in half between those from Solden and those from Vernica. The senate is ruled by their god who saved the Republic from destruction during the sundering known only as the Justicar. After saving the Republic from the events of the sundering the Justicar has taken a hands off approach in dealing with the Republic only approving those elected as consuls. The Republic is surrounded by enemies being the belligerent force in most of the confrontations and these wars have lasted since before the sundering with at most cease fires for a brief period of time. The Republic is obstinate in these wars thinking that most of them need to be put down. From the Coalition of Hadasht that they see merely as deserters from when they broke off 4 and a half millennia ago, to the Hegemony of Serica which destroyed several of their dwarven allies' cities to Those of Gaulren who they see as nothing more than barbaric raiders along their cities to the Daqin Dynasty that remain mysterious, but have been a source of conflict for the Republic since their arrival.   The Republic is not surrounded entirely by enemies though, they have an amicable trading relation with the Adal Caliphate, and is also a way for smugglers to purchase and sell goods to factions the Republic is at war with, and their long time allies in the mountains the Dwarven Kingdoms. The tribes of Caelum are also a faction that the Republic does not interfere with and the tribes are busy dealing with the undead threat to be able to attack the Republic. Latly the Technocrats of Endronia have technically been at war with the Republic but have not fought in any combat since The Sundering.   The Republic has been engaged in these wars for quite some time and only has been able to maintain them thanks to their vast pools of manpower and industrial capabilities supplemented by the Dwarven forges. Gaulren is defined by this incredibly static locked conflict with borders staying practically the same since around two centuries after the sundering. The world is still afflicted by the threats of the sundering and most nations have been incapable of fully dealing with them since most factions place the majority of their resources into these massive prolonged wars. Anytime a threat rears its head they hire mercenaries and adventurers to go deal with them. Every few centuries these threats increase in severity and appear simultaneously. They will give the nations some trouble and may even lose towns or possibly a city, but usually can be dealt with once resources are reallocated. The threats have begun to rise once again, but threats that haven't appeared for thousands of years have come too. The factions have prepared for renewed conflict with each other and seem to be ignoring these signs. The threats will come, but will they be defeated?
