Siifa
Siifa is a coastal province in northern Valhedge, where the icy winds of the Coldglass Sea sweep through snow-covered forests and frozen rivers. The land carries the scars of war and displacement, its people shaped by generations of conflict. Once the domain of the frost elves, Siifa became a refuge for the yergralffe after the Northern Treaty of 5E 206 forced their retreat from Bërg Verki, their ancestral capital. The provincial capital, Klaksol, now serves as a center of governance and trade, its towering structures of stone and ice bearing the marks of both yergralffe and elven heritage. With the northern province of Haukdalur acting as the yergralffe’s new stronghold, Siifa has become a quieter, wearier land, its people focused on survival rather than war.
Adrarctic Cattle – Thick-furred and sturdy, these beasts roam the tundra, vital to the yergralffe for meat and hide.
Polar Bears – Towering predators that stalk the icy plains, a constant danger to both cattle and hunters.
Snow Hares – Quick and elusive, their white fur camouflaging them against the snow.
Snow Lynxes – Silent and deadly, these keen-eyed hunters prowl the forests, their paws adapted to moving soundlessly across ice.
Woolly Boars – Hardy creatures with thick hides, revered as symbols of endurance and survival in Siifa’s unforgiving climate.
Siifa remains a land of quiet resilience, where its people endure the cold and hardship, choosing survival over the old grudges that continue to smolder in the hearts of their kin.
History & Conflict
Siifa's history is deeply intertwined with the Great Northern Wars, a series of five brutal conflicts between the yergralffe and the ice dwarves. Though the yergralffe often emerged victorious in battle, their political aspirations were repeatedly crushed by the nobles of the mainland, who upheld the Pact of Prosperity in favour of the dwarves. The final blow came in 5E 206, when Orion Skytracer signed the Northern Treaty, granting Bërg Verki to Jarl Orich VII of the ice dwarves and forcing the Verki clan into exile. Many yergralffe loyalists settled in Siifa, but unlike the defiant warriors of Haukdalur, the Siifans have grown weary of endless war. They support their Jaagr, but their priority is now fishing, hunting, and rebuilding their lives. The Verki clan, however, still clings to old grudges, resentful of the Six Great Houses that gained legitimacy while their own claims were denied.Klaksol – The Capital of Siifa
Once a modest settlement, Klaksol has rapidly expanded due to the influx of yergralffe displaced by war. The city’s stone-and-ice architecture reflects both yergralffe and elven influence, with ancestral markers standing as reminders of the land’s contested past. Positioned near the coast, Klaksol has become a vital trading hub, connecting Siifa to Haukdalur and beyond. Though its people carry the weight of history, they are focused on practical survival—fishing the frigid waters, hunting in the snow-covered forests, and carving out a life in the cold.Flora & Fauna
