Pine Woods

What most outsiders think of the land of Nehalenor is only a small part of the forests. The dense pine forest along the southern borderland has been seen by some who have come too close to the home of the Narmiron elves.

Huge, dark-leaved pines grow here, which in some places are so dense, that they completely block the sunlight. This view does not change with the seasons. Birds and rodents live mainly in this forest. The largest predator the badger hunts around the Swiftwater River, where the pine forest blends into Bearrest's oak forest and the undergrowth thickens. The situation is similar on the opposite side of the Pine Woods, where beyond the Cascade, the Foxwoods acacia forest and stony streambeds replace the dark pine woods. Many raccoons live in this area.

The Pine Woods is the home of the Inmar and the Lienathar tribes. Since the land is on the south border of the Valley, the Shemons, the border guards of Nehalenor, have a great impact on the forest.
