Malior, the Warrior

In the Third Era of Utea, the Segai hordes ravaged the continent. The people of Nehalenor tried to repel this danger by protecting their borders. Warriors from the heartland rushed to aid the tribes living in the border areas. The teams of mixed origins organized in this way were first called shemons, the Defenders.
Malior Silhen, the general leading the Defenders, proposed to the Shonla that they recruit a standing army of young hunters to defend the Valley. Soon the Shemons received support from the Council in supplies, weapons, and a Code of honor that included their duties.
Malior fell fighting to protect Nehalenor, but he serves as a role model to many young hunters, including Tyssa Arcori, to this day. After his death, in recognition of his work, he ascended to the ranks of the gods. Although he did not take part in the Battle of the East, according to tradition he will return home again when Nehalenor is in great danger. Some members of the Shemons say he appears from time to time in the borderlands in the form of a huge, black, spirit-bear.

Law, War, Courage, and Glory. Malior supports all fighters who take up arms to defend the law and the homeland. He is the patron of members of the Shemons.

Artifacts

Blessed Sword of the Greendragon: According to tradition, this dragon bone blade was given to Malior by a Greendragon druid who sacrificed his limb (legend varies from region to region, hand or leg) in defense of the Valley. The sword was blessed by the Goddess Narmiraen to bring heavenly power down upon all who would attack her people. The weapon was lost in Malior's last battle.
Bow of Wrath: This beautifully carved oak bow was the weapon Malior made for his own First Hunt, and served its master well for a lifetime. The bow is said to absorb the power of any slain enemy, gaining extraordinary power. After Malior's death, it circulated among the Shemons officers, and then Tyssa Arcori took it on her foreign campaign, from which it did not return to the Valley.
Talisman of Regeneration: This pendant was made by a Narmiron priestess for Malior to return home from the war (Malior was not allowed to start a family while serving in the Shemons according to the rules). The beautifully carved Pinera acorn was strung on a leather string. The pendant can heal some of the wearer's wounds. After Malior's death, his companions returned the necklace, which kept in Forestdeep, in Ariaven's shrine.

I love how much this short article adds to your world--from terminology to folklore to military organizations. Very interesting.
