Ravenmire
A Seaport of primarily Halflings/Humans and somewhat agricultural, Ravenmire has many run ins with creatures from the Yearning Marshes from time to time. It Is primarily an import/export center for Dustgarde's bulk freight, that which is not worth putting on an Airship or would be too heavy. The goods travel to/from the port on the Rocking Sea to other places. Over the centuries it has become a bastion and considered one of the safest places in the Anazar Republic.
Government
All citizens are part of the militia, Ravenmire has adopted and kept the militaristic organization over the centuries. Even the titles of office holders have military ranks associated with them. Orders are determined by the General and then carried out by lieutenants and further down a chain of command. Officers are promoted within when one passes away or retires with the remaining leadership deciding on a replacement.
Defences
The outer walls and towers are made from wood gathered from the forests while the castle near the harbor was constructed with stone that was brought in from other areas. A large militia is present complimented with ballistae, and stationed Azure Regiment soldiers.
Patrols and training exercises are constantly performed in the surrounding area and are the primary way the farms are kept protected.
Industry & Trade
Aside from the agriculture, Ravenmire produces few goods given its size. Its trade and commerce however is enormous, with many folk travelling to the city to purchase hard to acquire items. Merchants are drawn to the easy access of transportation, storage, and strong defenses.
One of the typical services provided is storage. The large warehouses have been augmented with extradimensional areas allowing a near limitless volume to be kept within the well protected walls.
History
The castle was originally built either shortly before or during the Second Planar War to protect the harbor which serviced fleets during the war. The eventual need for self sustainment and becoming a cache for the forces during the war caused its population to explode. Land was cleared to make room for farm after farm to keep up with the need for food given the unreliable nature of shipments during the conflict.
The storage capacity needed to be expanded as it was a common staging area for armies and primarily supplied Dustgarde leading to the many large warehouses still in use today.
The town quick reclaimed its militaristic role during the conflicts afterward and ever since has never let its defenses down. This proved valuable during the Third Planar War acting as a safe haven and protector of the immediate area.
While curfews are no longer in effect since the end of the Third Planar War, it is culturally expected for people to not linger in the streets after 9pm.
