Dustgarde

Dustgarde is actually the name of the massive fortress in the center of the city's walls. However, most call the surrounding city Dustgarde as well. This major city where a lot of travelers in Dawnoak are going to or from. Composed of multiple districts this bustling city is a melting pot of several races with the majority being Human, halfling, Half-elf, Dwarf, and Half-orc. Other races are also present but uncommon (typically full blood Elves, Tieflings, Dragonborn, and Gnomes).
Given its numerous inhabitants and clashing cultures, crime is relatively high. While outright overt racial tensions are not present, there are many whispers of how the city would do better with out Dragonborn, or Dwarves or any of the other races not present in the conversation.
A great spire reaches to the sky near the west towards the lake. This spire is used to facilitate trade via Airships. The surrounding roads are the only other means of transportation for the city

History

Originally the castle was built out of strategic importance and as a last stand against the Vazar Empire and then in the Anazar Civil war. It has always been the key central location for the Anazar Republic even when it was known as the Anazar Protectorate.
It has since become the center of economy in the Roxforte Mountains and Darkleaf Forests. This fueled its growth, some say to its detriment with a high crime rate.

Geography

Between the large break in the Roxforte mountains there is a small lake with some small rivers feeding it. Along one of these rivers not far from the lake sits Dustgarde.
