Konigsberg
Near the border of the Grimtol Strongholds' claimed mountains exists a village built to support a dwarven mine. It is often overlooked by the Anazar Republic which allows The Family to have a firm grip on its denizens and resources. Many others in the republic incorrectly believe the village is part of the Grimtol Strongholds and not the republic.
Demographics
Almost all of the dwarven population are members of the family and form either the ruling caste of the village or miners. Humans support the village with the food they grow, buildings they construct, defense, but most of all mining overseen by a Dwarven taskmaster. There exists some half-orcs and other races that serve the same roles as the humans.
Industry & Trade
The primary trade of this village is the Dwarven Mine owned and operated by The Family, exporting most of its ore and gems back to the Grimtol Strongholds. Grains and other food for livestock and beasts of burden are the primary imports which are then used to support the mine. Often these are purchased from travelling merchants of the Vazar Empire, but some come from the Anazar Republic.
Guilds and Factions
The Family own most of the land and buildings in the village, only a few relatively well-off shops are not technically owned, but they most likely pay for the family's "protection".
History
The village was once controlled by the Grimtol Strongholds. It was transferred to the Anazar Republic as part of a treaty which bolstered their borders and theoretically control of a mine. Difficulty in accessing the village has dwindled the republic's influence making exploitation by the Family easy.
Geography
The village is located in the steep hills south of the Grimtol Strongholds and expands over various hills. A nearby river that originates at Gelrum provides fresh water and some transportation access from there. The Yearning Marshes to the south and to some extent the west isolate this village from most of the Anazar Republic.
Natural Resources
The mine the Family controls is rich with Dark Cobalt and some precious gemstones. The village primarily focuses on sheep and cattle to provide food, supported by whatever crops they can grow in the river bottoms.
