Session 10: A Dwarven Perspective Report

General Summary

Returning back to Konigsberg the group is met with an elderly dwarf Daerren Stoutbeard who was taking his chance to flee from the mine and have some freedom before he dies. Kylar convinces him that he will take care of his debt and get him to safety in exchange for the information that Bagron Silverbrew has been skimming off gems from the mine.
The group hides Daerren in one of the crates on the cart and then returns to their spot outside the mine. After awhile Braddor Icefoot and a group of guards storm out and ask if they have seen an older dwarf that had gone missing. The group covers for Daerron and so then Braddor moves off to the village to search for him. Khajit follows offering his services of tracking the dwarf and plants the idea that some strange merchant from Ravenmire that was only there last night might have taken the dwarf out of the village. The guards still search the village for him, and Willow is able to prevent them from searching the party's room thoroughly.
Not finding Daerren the guards spread out and start searching the nearby area. A little while later a screaming young girl alerts everyone to a group of mephits and an earth elemental approaching. Willow immediately runs towards and attacks the earth elemental while Kylar and Khajit use the distraction to sneak into Bagron's house and search it. As the chaos ensues the earth elemental is taken out and Braddor arrives with a couple guards leaving the gate open that Kylar is able to sneak in unnoticed, and Khajit is also able to scale the wall unnoticed.
Georg, Willow, Braddor and the guards finish off the mephits while Kylar and Khajit hide in the watch towers. Once the mephits were defeated it was decided that Yoq and Pelleas would take the wagon with Daerron to a contact outside of Konigsberg for safe passage.
Night falls and Khajit and Kylar infiltrate the mine, but unfortunately had to dispatch one of the guards. Inside they took the ledger, discovered additional information, and staged a murder in Bagron's office with the guard's body. Kylar was also able to make contact with a cook/bartender in the mine to sow decent and secure a way to get a message out to the group if/when needed. The 2 then were able to easily slip past the guards at the gate since they aren't looking at the mine entrance.
Meeting back up at the inn and then at their room, they discussed what was found and their plans. Braddor doesn't agree with Bagron's methods, nor does he fear him. Bagron has a stash of gems in his home, with the ledger saying not many were actually acquired. Kylar was able to also take a contract for human that was to work in the mine as well as rubbings of a stone that had similar terran markings to what was around the door where the group previously fought the 2 earth elementals.
