Cliffside

A small village that is under the protection of Haben because it connects the larger town to the rest of the realms. It sits in a harbor that is a break from the great cliff walls that grace the northern region of Earador. Large docks go out onto Vortex Lake to allow the docking of ships and the town is known to be home to many sailors and fishermen.   Many of the sailors and travelers stop at the Crow's Nest, the tavern known for its ale. There is also a temple of the Spirit of Death, known as Mourner's Hall. Also to the west is a group of sea caves that is home to a witch who is known for her medicinal abilities and curses.

Demographics

The majority of the village is made up of humans, with a few dwarven craftsmen. Fisherman and sailors are the most prominent profession but there are farmers as well.

Defences

5 full-time guards serve under the leadership of the sword captain.   All the young members of the village are required to receive martial training; partially due to the fact that they often become sailors. Most of the inhabitants are trained in combat due to the

Industry & Trade

Fishermen, sailors, and lumber. The trees around the village are a hearty breed that is lightweight but strong, perfect for their ships.

Infrastructure

Recently the tradesmen of the village have gained a reputation as great shipbuilders. They are fortunate that Lord Turch Blagan has an amicable relationship with the Elves of the Elven Woods and so they get superior lumber.

History

A necromancer came to the village in the year 285. It began to use the few dead of the village to begin to harry the living. After these cruel attacks the decision was made to create the Mourner's Hall to have the dead rest beneath the earth.   In the year 434, a plague of sickness hit the village, causing some of the villagers to transform into deadly monsters. The cult of Huarral "Spirit of Disease and Decay" was trying to cause a plague that would spread throughout the region. Fortunately, a group of adventurers foiled the cultists.
