Pelee is a Queendom of people descended from a Star Fae and Nemeli union.
Ruler
Pelee is ruled by a Queen who is viewed as the Mother of the nation; this is because, in a sense, she is. From the age of sexual maturity (around 20), the queen bears a (male) child every year, except for the year her heir is birthed- the heir, a Princess, is born around age 50. During her child bearing years, the Queen's aging is slowed greatly (The Long Bloom)- it takes about 5 years for her to age 1 year. Unfortunately, once she is done bearing children (varies, usually around 65-70), her age catches up with her swiftly (known as The Wilt)- the aging process is reversed to around 5 years aged over 1 year. The Queens do not need spermatozoa to reproduce; their ovum can be fertilized by spermatozoa, but if they are not, the Star Magic inherited from Rosililly will "fertilize" the egg instead (it is the Transformation aspect of the Star magic). Due to this inherited quirk, every queen is genetically half Star Fae and the unique reproductive cycle continues.Nobility
Any daughters born to the Prince(s) of Pelee (granddaughters of Queens) are elevated to Lady status. The first granddaughter born to a Queen will head the Main Branch of that Queen's Noble House as the First Daughter, and any additional daughters will head a Branch of the House. The Ladies serve in the palace assisting in raising the queen’s children (their nephews and niece), along with any first daughters of their own, and administering the kingdom. The far majority of the sons borne to queens will have only sons of their own. It is a closely held family secret, uncovered by Queen Lilliandra's brother Loro, at her request, that the sons who do sire daughters are the ones who have fathers. Pelee has a strong education system, including a top university on the continent. Primary learning begins at age 6, secondary at age 12, and University at 16. The funding and development of the curriculum at the university has the additional upside of luring young people across the continent for marriage prospects. Ruled by a Queen, Princess heir. Additional ruling duties performed by Ladies of Noble Houses, lead by First Daughters. The Queens may or may not take a consort at their discretion. The women of noble families are referred to as Ladies, and the main branch of each is headed by a First Daughter. Branch Houses are lead by Second, Third, etc. Daughters.

History
A Star Fae, Rosilily fell in love with a human from Nemel who was on a quest with his partner, Rhythmus, a dragon also from Nemel. She all but lost her Star Magic using Transformation Affinity to change herself from fae to human. They settled near her home, so that Rosilily could remain in close proximity to the rest of her collective. Rosilly was met with great discomfort if she went too far from the collective (an issue her scions did not inherit Lillirest was founded as a rest area for her, as she could not accompany her husband any further when he would take to sea for trade at the docking location that would eventually become Star Harbor.
Rosilily seemed fully human, and she and Cadence had 5 children together: 4 boys and then finally a girl, Rozalea.
When Rozalea reached maturity she began having children asexually. Her first child, Rolen, was born enveloped in Star Magic, his eyes glowing white and rainbow with celestial power. Although Rosilily had been transformed into a human, the regenerative rebirth of the Star Fae was passed down to her daughter, combining with the human reproductive system in this unexpected way. When Rosilily ovulated, if the ovum was not fertilized organically the Star Magic would take over. Rosilily, and subsequently all her female scions, would have roughly one child per year until the Wilt. An additional feature of the fusing of Star Fae regenerative rebirth and the human female reproductive system is a slowed aging process from maturity until the last decade of her life. From around the age of 20 until the age 65-70 Queens hardly age at all; once they move from their fertile stage, they age rapidly over the next 10 or so years until their ultimate demise.
