House Roandra
Beginning with the birth of Queen Leadora's first granddaughter in yr 106, the queens of Pelee bestowed the title of Lady upon their granddaughters, creating noble houses in their names. Any subsequent granddaughters oversee branch houses of their name.
Queen Roandra had no interest in men and was unwilling to copulate with one even though she knew it was the only way to have a granddaughter. Instead, she opted to raise Lady Zain, Second Daughter of the First Branch House of House Lizalea to the First Daughter of her own House.
It had never been done before, and was a bit of a scandal, but the Queen is the queen. The Main House of Leadora was especially snobbish about the whole thing. Obviously there are no branch houses.
