Magnesia (MAG-NEE-zhee-ah)

Magnesia is a large country completely unmissable when one looks at a map. It’s very technologically advanced and is the future of using both magic and machinery together in one. The country is looked at as a sort of joke to other countries on the planet, but the high freedom of an individual - and the very individualistic mindset the country holds - is an interesting trait to the country that some others don't have.
The ruling body of the government is congress, and prides on the liberal democracy that it ensures for all citizens - they are able to vote someone they can agree on in office, thought there are stipulations with the two parties that clash against each other. It doesn't help that the government overall has caught hell with the massive amount of scandals and flubs they've caused.
The overall state of Magnesia prides itself in having to be the pioneer for discoveries, inventions and advancements that helped benefit humankind, hence it being a very popular (but notorious) country to immigrate to. Dross is the capital city which makes its home here, and being the twin city to Altair. Both cities are the most populated as they are the heart of the country; technologyical advancements, better way of living and working, and opportunities given to citizens. This has given the cities quite the reputation that it wears with pride, albeit with some others viewing it as pompous and obnoxious. All of the cities in Magnesia experiences some, if not all of the seasons possible - spring, summer, autumn and winter. The lights all towns and cities across Magnesia spectacle when winter arrives due to the lights, while fireworks go off during summer. Altair is commonly associated with the use of magic, but is the most remarkable due to being a major immigration point for scholars graduating from Ironfalls Academy. There are other cities dotted around the map of Magnesia that welcome magic users, but it's pretty normal for them to be obscured by Altair's reputation. Meanwhile, Fallkirk is a very sleepy town, one of the smaller cities being 20-45 minutes away from Dross. It's common for business to settle in the form of cafes and small bars.
Magnesia is home to a lot of innovative businesses and houses, which further pioneer the powerhouse of the country it can be. Homelessness is a problem, though, and despite president Arthur attempting his hand in closing the awful disparity between classes, there’s still a sharp gap.
In the city, the major airport Nath is here, a bustling transportation hub for many who seek to visit Dross for immigration or visitation

Geography

The nation is quite large, having the size of over 3,532,899 square miles, and housing more than 30,000,000 citizens. Some states are much more larger than other states, typically this being defined in the south with Harmonil being the biggest one while Massiana up north is the largest northernmost state. Magnesia is one of the largest country out of all of the nations on Eon - but some people also debate if the annexed territories are included in size or not.   The country is one of the most diverse nations on Eon, with Leslave beating it by a neck; its made up of many types of lands united together under one nation. Up north is where there's states that remain frosty and cold most of the year. As one goes further down the nation, they're met with sprawling forests that dot the country, with a combination of rolling fields of wheat and grass, desert or arid lands, to a combination of the formers mentioned. The large Drumstoll Mountains make their mark from the north west and continue down south in a jagged, but linear fashion on the west coast. Kingwater River is the biggest running river and cuts Magnesia from the north east, before running south and making a sharp turn back east into the ocean on the eastern coast. The large, plain region of the Great Division takes up a massive occupancy smack dab in the middle of the nation, before being interrupted by one of the largest lakes on Terrandt, called Hatraine Lake. The plains then slowly turn into the arid land of the south, populated by wildwheat grass and various cactus species thought to originally belong to Sur'Dahl and may have migrated via seeds onto immigrants and travelers. Though there is an active volcano in the south, its almost unremarkable due to it becoming more and more dormant over the years. The only thing of note to it is the periodic earthquakes the region may face.   Many of the cities, especially the ones down south, are concrete jungles. They may have some varying plant life, but most of the cities comprise of concrete and asphalt from the industrialization that they have endured. Some plant life, like domeberry vines and sazzleberry trees , grows on buildings and other landmarks, and produce domeberries naturally (though farming for them is difficult, some have been able to do it.) Other plant life that exists are specially made gardens that can or are not enchanted with earth magic groundskeepers prepare them with. The plants are controlled very well, and make beautiful works of art that people could walk through if they're getting through areas of the city. The plant life throughout the city isn't the only one when it comes to tourism; various states across Magnesia all have something that a tourist could - and should, as recommended by locals - see and make it a fun adventure.

Climate

The climate on Magnesia is also one of very different and interesting variety, with each area having its own defined climate, like the Midnorth. An overmining incident with ice magic called Frost's Blight caused the entire northern edge of Magnesia to frot over. This specific climate change is irreversible and something the locals had to acclimate to, or some of them even migrating further south to get away from the frigid environment.
Other overfarming can cause shifts as well, like a thunderstorm happening due to the factory like refining the element correctly. These incidents are temporary compared to the Frost's Blight incident. Besides freak accidents causing climate change like that, Magnesia is described for the most part as humid continental, with temperatures being high in the summer and cold in the winters. As one goes further south, the land becomes much more arid as it becomes a desert -there are some pockets of the humid climate scattered somewhat around, still, which helps with farming.   There's also a belt of south Magnesia that, due to ljósánite and earth farming gone wrong, it creates an eternal twilight. The sun never sets or rises, and it causes a beautiful glow in the cities occupying that belt. It's actually become a popular tourist attraction, with hotels constantly being booked and celebrities doing sponsors there.

Natural Resources

The amount of economy and natural recourses Magnesia prides on is easily seen from them exporting material - but on the same front, the country is notorious for importing cheap goods to use in place of its own resources due to businesses being cheap and greedy.    The natural economy is a mix of several industries that utilize what country is best at in terms of farming. This can be seen through agriculture, technology and manufacturing.   The fertile plains in the middle and slightly eastern side of the country produced a lot of crops, and even some vegetables; examples being corn, wheat, and even some types of beans. Food can be farmed or harvested from any state, another pro to how agriculture can thrive. Seafood is popular in the north west, while wilderdeer meat can be attained anywhere due to them being an invasive species and known as a pest.
The further down, going south and keeping to the east, is home to a large, booming technology industries that goes neck to neck with Kangsu's technological boom as well. Large companies invest in and specialize software, hardware and robotics. Some have even been successful in using the elements that are naturally forms in or on the countries of Magnesia. This could easily be bluetooth TVs that can be turned on and have channels changed on a watch or smart phone - all of this done through thunder magic. Another example is washing large portions of dishes, or general surface area using water elemental-affiliated technology. This could help with cleaning things much faster and result in very beautifully polished appliances and surface areas.   Going further into using magic as a natural resource, its a well known practice for companies to hire contractors or individuals to help farm magic through large mana deposits (also known as crystal cores). The farming is done with a machine that is elementally compatible with what they're farming, which is processed as raw crystals and/or dust. These elements are then taken to factories built for handling elemental energy where its processed into clean energy that can be shipped out to buyers for product. Andother example of some magic being farmed is a prized rock called veilstone. A rare, crystalline rock found in most states underground, this stone enhances the strength of the elemental energy being farmed. Unfortunately, it has a dangerous side effect: people can come down with elemental sickness, where they're very sensitive to the opposite of an element they worked with (for example, exposure to a burst of earth magic from farming gone wrong can make the person very weak if they're exposed to water.)   This isn't unique to Magnesia, but the process in how they dig for, farm and handle the energy is different than other countries, just to make note.

Tourism

Tourism is very, very busy in Magnesia, and that's all due to the diversity not just in states but activities one could do. The most popular restaurant that started in Magnesia and is now all over the world is Cosmic Bros: Gargantuan Burgers, associated with mouth watering large burgers and delicious, crispy fries. It's easy to find one anywhere, even in the more quiet towns or cities. Out of Bounds is located right in Dross and is a eat-and-play location that's constantly busy, especially when night falls. Festifair is located in Dunbury, a city about 50 minutes away from Dross. It's a fun amusement park based off of the middle ages, and has fun rides for everyone.   For the points of interests that aren't artifically made, they're beautiful, natural locations that people can walk through, take pictures of, and even have picnics if the landscape and officials allow it.   One of the locations is a group of gorgeous caves; Crystal Caves. A popular destination involves visiting the Remembrance Caverns. They're natural caverns system beneath Altair, with a leyline running through an area thats made it safe to walk through with the industrial strength of metal and steel provided by engineers a long time ago. Visitors can take guided tours to learn about how the pathing influence the city’s magic, and some tourists even take home enchanted crystals as souvenirs through the shop. They're weakened, the only notice of enchantment is a dim glow and glowing in the dark as well.   Another very popular destination is an underground building that's under Dross that does magic-infused light shows: Every few months, the city puts on dazzling light shows that blend neon lights with magical illusions, casting surreal images on the sides of buildings. They can also watch people slow down time to do light art, which can be captured on high speed cameras that the organizers of the events catch. There's also a legend that the show helps lost spirits find their way to Delirium, as they "light the path for them to seek Nandipha/"
