Modeste is one of many House Aydem members, possessing a considerably large family. Despite her background as a noble, Modeste doesn't hide her disdain for politics or life in the capital. She works instead as the head of the Security Staff within the Accian Military Training Program. In fact, despite her youth she is Marshal Beatrice Schwartz's right hand. She takes her job very seriously, ideal for the position thanks to her sensory magic and is known for her nerves of steel. Modeste isn't particularly chatty or sociable, focused entirely on her duties and the welfare of staff and recruits. Her views are very black and white and she makes no attempt to cushion nor water down either her stark cynicism or blunt nature.
Appearance
Modeste is tall and thickset, very muscular despite her plump appearance. She has notably light skin, stiking blue eyes and long black hair usually kept tied up and out of her way. In her magic form, her eyes take on a silver and crystaline appearance, glowing gently, alongside white markings surrounding her eyes and teal on and around her mouth. Some of her hair will also turn teal.

Background
Modeste is one of many members of the Aydem House and is an older cousin to the current House Heir, Faustin. Modeste has always struggled to distinguish herself, to gain the recognition and approval of her parents or grandparents. Given their identical magic and plentiful competition, Modeste grew to feel invisible among her siblings. No matter her achievements, no matter her dedication, no one saw her. She was especially criticized by Dowager Duchess Audrey for her weight and appearance, hassled for not being feminine enough to attract a proper husband. This sensitivity is one she carries silently to this day, even as she has cut ties with her grandmother.
After a falling out with her grandmother, Modeste decided to follow in her uncle Zeki's footsteps and carve out a life for herself outside of the capital by joining AMTP, still considered an honorable proffession. Modeste worked tirelessly to earn her current position at such a young age, to build a life free of her background. Beatrice has come to trust Modeste implicitly, appreciating her diligence, clear-headedness and stark realism. She often seeks her input despite being ten years her senior. Since taking up her position as head of security, she maintains a policy of keeping court politics out of her division, knowing she is hardly the only noble staff looking to escape their position by serving in the program.
