Accian Military
The Kingdom of Accia's most potent weapon is its well organized and specialized military, honed within the intensive Accian Military Training Program. These programs are designed to maximize the skills and potential of each individual recruit as well as their ability to wield their kaithur and fight in tandem with each other. (In other words, it's all about working by yourself and as a team!)
Even outside of obvious militaristic utilization, these programs are also tools for assimilating the youth of new and existing territories into the kingdom. It cultivates a sense of belonging within the kingdom, builds strong bonds between recruits independent of their origin and instills a sense of loyalty, awe and appreciation for the kingdom, it's culture, it's ambition and for the many territories they travel through while training. This program and military system is what has allowed the kingdom to not only conquer efficiently but to assimilate and retain the territories they conquer.
Welcome to our empire! Don't worry, we won't get rid of your way of life entirely. Join our army and experience the amazing oneness of our kingdom. It's great we promise!
Like many Accian structures, the military is divided up into tens. Thanks to the influence of the Erlithmanil, ten is considered a divinely balanced number. There are ten generals and these are the highest ranking officers of each Division. Much like the Ten Houses, all other ranks fall under one of these generals. Soldiers are trained to function both in ten man units, fighting most frequently in these formations, or by division. Larger armies can be organized by assigning a number of these units to fight together on the same field, becoming platoons, companies or battalions, or they can fight organized by division depending on circumstances. It is an adaptable system.
Being able to fight in multiples of ten is extremely important! Please write that down, draw arrows to it, put lights around it, and most importantly remember it. That fact is very important!
While each unit is unique, there is a basic structure every unit shares. They are comprised of five combatants and five support, though all Accian soldiers are expected to be able to function individually in battle to some degree. In fact, many soldiers can play both support and combative roles! The five combatants are two close combatants, an aerial soldier, a midrange combatant and a ranged combatant. Meanwhile, support roles include an enhancement support, special support, control support, mobile support and command support. However, sometimes a unit will have calvary in place of mobile support or special combatant in place of specialized support. While all units follow this basic structure, soldiers aren't locked into rigid roles. Many soldiers considered support can do so on the front line and many combatants can provide support too, depending on their kaithur. Their training is designed to bring out the skills of each individual while still training them to work cohesively and compliment each other's skills.

The soldiers here are well rounded and talented in many fields, and you will be to, once you join the Accian army!
Divisions
While each recruit is trained to fight independantly and as a unit, they also belong to one or more divisions. Each of these divisions is led by a single General, the highest ranking officers who answer only to the King himself. In the largest scale battles, these generals will lead their division into battle! But while many generals prefer working directly in the field, most of the time they are calling the shots from the back and giving orders to lesser officers if not communicating directly with command support. They can also take command of any smaller groups, independant of divisions, or lead a force of their division alone. This is most common amid the Aerial and Aquatic Divisions.

Mages
There is also an eleventh unofficial division of sorts. They train separately from their peers and aren't generally found on the battlefield itself, though there are exceptions. These mages are those rare few capable of True Magic, highly valued by the kingdom. While they still have their own kaithur, the kingdom hones their attention purely onto their true magic. They are rarely put onto the battlefield and only with ample protection. Even if they were to associate with outsiders, few have the pallate to deal with these pampered and pretentious caged songbirds.Recruitment
All citizens, regardless of family, wealth or position, are required to serve for at least four years after completing the two year training program. Even the royal line and nobility serve. They join the training program at 16 but many wealthy families begin their training much younger, often employing expensive tutors or sending them to combat schools. Because there are many opportunities and benefits offered to those who do well in service and due to general nationalism, it isn't uncommon for soldiers to serve more than the base requirement. This is especially the case among nobility who wish to distinguish themselves or warriors who hope to gain marriage into a noble house by proving themselves—anyone can gain a position via this route!
(Unfortunately, fame and glory are not guaranteed. You have been warned!)
History
During the Free Era, after the Downfall of the Erlithmanil, humanity could to do as they pleased without being overseen by the Erlithmanil. There was a long period where different Eluzian peoples warred with each other over the fertile lands of the Eluzian Valley, the Syltharis royal line ruling only symbolically. However, 207 years ago a Syltharis king reunited the Kingdom of Accia under the Ten Houses before initiating an ambitious goal of uniting all of Emynea. This military system was put into place to that end.
To anyone fearful of the training years, First, don't be scared. Second, I've never felt more at home here. The places I've been to, the people I've been able to meet, it has honestly been the best experience. It was hard and challenging, but I can honestly say I left my training years happy and satisfied with what I was able to accomplish. And I can't wait to see what lies for me afterwards. I hope, dear soldier, that you will begin these next two years excited for what lies ahead. Don't be afraid. Don't be scared. Be thrilled; be exhilarated because you will never be able to experience these next two years again. I'm hoping that you will look back and be proud of all you will accomplish. Good luck, my fellow soldier. I hope to see you on the battlefield.Sincerely, your comrade-in-arms
