Maralith's Form

This ability grants Gan features of a Omkhii Polecat in her magic form. She has fur from the nose and cheeks up and rounded polecat ears, claws, a tail and fangs. This affords her a seeming furry bandit mask
Gan and Polecat
with two white, dotted eyebrows of a polecat. The tail gives her a better ability to balance herself, much needed when she moves so quickly. Her hearing and sense of smell are heightened in this state too. Pecularly, because she already possesses a connection to Fliris, she gained a weaker version of this species of polecat's Sense manifestation!
Fliris' Slip
Gan, Hand to Hand

Fliris Slip allows Gan to move through solid matter. She cannot be impeded by physical barriers, slipping right through. She can also move with increasing, cumulative velocity and gains speed the faster she
goes. Unfortunately, it becomes harder to stop the faster she is moving and more difficult to turn. Despite this, it allows her to flit about unimpeded. She cannot interact with anything physically when slipping but can turn it on and off at her discretion. She is skilled in going in and out of this state mid battle. However, it only works so long as she remains in motion leaving her vulnerable if she is immobilized.

Gan is a young woman who originates from the same clan and region as Bolorbataar but she is also an instructor working within the Accian Military Training Program of the Kingdom of Accia. Despite Mongol Uls being one of the kingdom's newest acquisitions at the time, Gan dove headfirst into her training and military service once recruited. She enjoyed her experience and the freedom afforded to her so much that, even after completing her required service, she stayed on with the kingdom and earned herself a spot as an instructor within the training program.

Gan herself is quite similar to the beast her magic grants her the features of. She is energetic, mischievous, wild and loves a good scuffle. Boyish and athletic, she hates anything that tries to hold her back from being her raw self. There are parts of her which miss the comforts and familiarity of her culture, of her people, but she had felt so stifled by her old life that the idea of returning to any semblance of it frightens her. Gan is a free spirit and there is nothing she loves more than travelling and hunting. It is to this end she has stayed on with the kingdom, the life she leads in the Procession everything she could ever dream of. She has also always enjoyed passing on her skills, reminding her of her time teaching Bolorbataar how to hunt. He was the only person back home to ever look up to her and even admire her for her true self, never pressuring her to be more feminine or demure. Teaching young recruits has been the closest semblance to this last positive link to her past. That is until Bolor is finally recruited.

Appearance

Gan Polecat Spirit

Gan is short and compact but she isn't thin or petite. She is robust and plump and her face has prominent, rounded features. While her skin is naturally light, she tans very quickly. She enjoys dying her hair different shades of blue or blue green to match her magic form and will often shave one side of her scalp. She regularly manifests her polecat ears, claws and tail and robin blue markings across her body, some of which colors her fur too. She especially enjoys the light blue coloring her form adds to her hair.

Background

Gan's Face

Like most of herp people, Gan comes from a nomadic clan of pastorialists in Mongol Uls but she has completely cut ties with them. Bolorbataar is a member of this same clan who was always in her shadow. He was like a little brother to her, admiring her spirit and trying to emulate her skills. She taught him everything he knows about hunting, passing this on to him shortly before recruitment. He was also one of the few people from her youth who never pressured her to conform to their traditions on how a woman was expected to behave. Who never lectured her on acting more feminine or to start preparing herself for marriage. She could always speak freely to him, even if he was too young to understand everything she had to say.

Chibi Bolor 2
They would often talk about her dream to travel the world, long before the kingdom arrived and began nabbing up teenagers. Intentionally or not, she instilled the same desire in him. They had planned for the two of them to take off and travel the world as soon as Bolor was old enough to hold his own. But no matter howmuch she missed his company, the thought of returning home, of possibly folding to her family's demands for her... she couldn't bring herself to see them. She knew he would be recruited eventually but she hadn't expected it to come so soon. For him to have changed so much from the little boy she knew. For her to have changed so much. She simply wasn't ready.

Gender and Sexuality

Despite seeming quite boyish and having purposeful disregard for feminine mannerisms, Gan still identifies as female. She simply enjoys being her own version of a self-dependant woman unfettered by tradition. Gan is also pan and poly, not particularly discerning with who she chooses to engage with and following her curiosity as it strikes her. She never plans to marry, enjoying her freedom to see who she wants when she wants.

Flaws

She has a bad habit of using her slip magic to walk right through walls and other barriers rather than using a door, popping in on people unannounced. She is also incredibly sexually prolific, her casual views on this causing her to cross boundaries without realizing and making people uncomfortable at times. Though sometimes she does so on purpose to embarrass someone, especially Berenger. She's also known to have a voracious appetite, Khalkh Monggol dishes laden with protein and fats, and can be a bit gluttonous.

Gan Read to Go

Motivation

Gan simply wishes to live her life in her way, to be her true self and continue travelling Emynea for as long as she can. As one might expect from a Fliris caster, she values her freedom and is driven by powerful wanderlust. Part of her misses many things from her old way of life but her desire to live freely, for now, has won her over. Despite leaving her past behind, she still retains the spiritual beliefs of her culture and reveres their deity, Tengger. She believes Tengger gave her a wandering spirit and she is meant to continue travelling the world endlessly, to never settle down.

Achievements

Gan worked primarily within the Special Division as a soldier and was valued for her ability to infiltrate any defense using her magic, skilled at barreling into bases or past barriers and wreaking havoc along the way. She made excellent use of Fliris' Slip and was a tiny juggernaut, slipping in and out of the battlefield as it suites her, shredding men with her claws but never staying long enough for retaliation. She walked away from many a battle unwounded. It was this record that landed her a position as Instructor, a sought after position.

Failures

Gan is infuriated and ashamed of the treatment she endured before recruitment, of the concessions she made. Back then, she kept her head down and tried her best to fit into the role she was expected to. For all the beauty and community in her culture, she chafed under their gender norms. Despite this, she always bit her tongue, only expressing herself to little Bolor while hunting. Even getting away to hunt was something she would have her ear chewed off for but this was the one thing she refused to buckle to. It was her catharsis. This is part of why she can't bring herself to even contact Bolor after her service ended. She was too scared the stifled little girl of her past would rear her head, that she might fold and find herself back with her clan. Tending to cattle with a toddler tugging on her deel.

Friends and Allies

Simona Albescu
Felicity Minx
Gan is extremely blunt, energetic and straightforward. She is to the point and doesn't water down her bubbly personality. She can also be extremely boyish and has terrible manners on purpose. However, she is also openly affectionate with those she likes and is sometimes overbearing. She gave up trying to restrain or water herself down long ago. This isn't to say she says things that are totally reckless or needlessly provokes people. She simply doesn't beat around the bush or be someone she isn't. Felicity Minx enjoys her company for this reason.

Gan's closest friends are Felicity Minx and Simona Albescu, all three of them working as instructors. She and Felicity get a lot of grief from Berenger Chevalier but Gan enjoys going toe to toe with him. He enjoys harping on them for being unladylike and beastly yet he also harbors an unrequited attraction to Simona. Gan is one of the few people who explicitly knows of Felicity and Simona's romance, though many suspect it. They are quite the trio and Gan enjoys their dynamic.

Employment

Gan the Uninhibited
Gan works as an Instructor in AMTP, falling under the Education Department. Specifically, she teaches an array of survival, scouting, beast magic and unarmed combat courses. This can include basics of hunting, foraging and survival in various biomes as they travel (desert, rainforest, mountains, sea, tundra, etc.). Thanks to her magic she is skilled in scouting and infiltration and covers a number of courses for Special Division. She teaches recruits with bestial features like claws and fangs how to best utilize these as tools and weapons, the ideal strategies. She also teaches unarmed combat and self defense. She is a very well balanced soldier with complex skills so she is kept quite busy. Despite this, she actually enjoys much of these activities and doesn't always consider it work.

Hobbies

Gan is an skilled and enthusiastic hunter. Whether this enjoyment comes from her beastial magic or just comes naturally to her isn't clear. It is for this reason she teaches recruits survival skills including hunting. She enjoys being able to travel and hunt in every kind of biome across Emynea during her personal time. It is this wanderlust and curiosity that keeps her working in the stressful workplace of the AMTP procession.

She keeps herself quite clean but, because of her polecat features, she gives off a foul smell at times. An easy way to draw her ire is to claim she is dirty, smelly or unkept. People question if she can spray musk or not like a polecat but she keeps this to herself, unwilling to answer. Additionally, while Gan has been far from her homeland and has spoken Accian for many years now, she still has a strong accent. She struggles with obscure vocabulary or very rapid speech. At times, one might catch her muttering something under her breath in her first language, cursing or even spitting out full sentences in ire when insulting someone. Felcity has had Gan teach her some basics of Khalkh Mongolian so they can trash talk Berenger, even when he stands before them!
