Helenon
History
Though today Helenon is the capital of Belkar and the seat of power to House Aquilar, it was not always so.
Helenon started as a fishing village on the edge of Flint Lake in 916 after the new Sultan took over Belkar. There is a legend that says it was founded when a group of travellers spotted a Phoenix on the edge of the lake.
It is unclear if this myth is true, or just fanciful history. What is known is after the eastern invaders defeated the Dwarven High King O’Conner Emberforge, they set up the capital in Helenon in 916. Not wanting to curry favour with any of the old noble houses, the new town was set up as a captial, in the central , and it has grown rapidly in the last 250 years, to now be the largest in Belkar, with those looking to make fame and fortune with the rich and powerfull of the city.
